Another solid game for our most reliable big man RG. He is playing so much better catching the ball and finishing around the rim. From the charity stripe - needs to improve as he draws so much contact - it is painful to watch him shoot free throws.
Speaking of big men - AW. I have been touting for more PT for him since last year. He got more then a few minutes last night in the 1st half. He isn't a polished player by any means and admittedly not as good of a player as I had been hoping to see - but what he does do is he runs, he alters a shot or two and grabs a pair of rebounds - despite him not being even as good as I hoped I STILL think he warrants a few minutes a game - more then they are giving him now.

Go Rokas Go!!! I know it was a bad Drexel club, but another solid game double-double - love what he's growing into - most def needs to be at least serviceable from the FT line, so that's a glaring weakness

But other than that, young man is becoming a BEAST - will be a HUGE factor for this teams chances in the CAAT, and, if all things align, making post season noise

As most of you can probably tell by now - I am a huge "ro(c)k" fan. Plays with passion and obviously is working his tail off in practice. I am so impressed with the offensive side of his game beyond the pick and rolls from JG. Rock has really improved his footwork and rarely looks like just the big bulky guy he sometimes looked like last year. You can tell that he simply loves to play. I'm real happy for him. He really does not need too much more in terms of offensive weapons (maybe a nice jump hook) to really be unstoppable in the CAA. And of course there's the FT issue. Knowing that HU has always been a guard oriented program, its great to see that someone is helping with the coaching of the bigs. The results show!

So I was wondering how things would shake out next year when Sabety can play. I found the below youtube video for your viewing pleasure. Granted it is against D3 competition, but I am extremely excited about getting him on the floor. Take a look and you'll see a another RG with offensive skills already developed. Really nice jump hook with either hand, rolls to the hoop well, nice little turnaround jumper, and actually looks to have little more vertical jumping ability than RG. Having him work against RG, AW, DK during practice has to be preparing him well for next year. Don't know how Joe will use him next year, but I can't imagine some minutes with RG and HS on the floor at the same time.

Next year maybe we see starting lineup like this?? Wonder if Sabety can play the 4 ? Wonder if he and Rokas can be effective on court at same time??

PG 6-0 Buie So. Powers
SG 6-2 Bernardi Sr. JWF
SF 6-5 Robinson Jr. Pembo
PF 6-8 Sabety Jr.
C 6-9 Gustys Jr. Walker

If they can, and with the departure of Green and Tanskley, that would be big change from what HU fans have been used to.

That long run of "In Guards We Trust," while always searching for more up front, would suddenly give way to HU having its front court as its primary strength. Been a LONG time since that was the case for HU.

Long way off, lots of spots to fill...I would like to see us FINALLY have a full team, at least 12 ELIGIBLE scholarship players. And who knows maybe Djambo returns

I have to assume there is a JuCo player or immediately eligible Grad player on the horizon

Keep the tremendous play going RG, you have all conference written all over your buddy and just a sophomore you have a legit potential future pro career at least at some level… Guy is elevating his game in a major way real proud of the young man

RG’s stats this week… not too shabby!
15-19 shooting, 78.9% - 6-9 (67%) Thursday, 9-10 (90%) Saturday
40 points - 15 Thursday, 25 Saturday
30 rebounds - 10 Thursday (3 offensive, 7 defensive), 20 Saturday (6 offensive, 14 defensive)
2 blocks - 1 each game
3 assists - 2 Thursday, 1 Saturday

He has 4 consecutive double-doubles, and 8 on the season. Delaware’s Marvin King-Davis leads the CAA as a senior with 9 double-doubles.

As long as he can stay on the court for 30 -33 minutes a game (by keeping fouls under control) we should expect big numbers on a regular basis. Likely double double almost every game.

Great to see him get the recognition for POW. Likely many more to come over the next 2 1/2 years.

He might need to work on his conditioning to play that much. He was gassed most of that JMU game; even had to call a timeout just to take a break.

This guy is turning into a superstar. Also helps to have a great point guard distributing the ball beautifully to him. It was the Green and Gustys show tonight.. Running the pick and roll to perfection..

I like that a lot.

Hofstra's version of the pick & roll.

But it has to be Rok & Roll.

Now if some creative students bother to start showing up in the Lion's Den and want to run with that, it would be nice to get some pics of the two of them and some Rok & Roll banners in that section.
