We signed a BIG! Victor Onueto
Actually, Victory Onuetu, which explains this:

Fun cryptic tweet here. Did they actually sign a big or book a non conference D1 home game? Either warrants that reaction at this point. Lol
At least his first name is a good omen and can potentially set up some good headlines like "Victory Leads Hofstra to Win."
I don't care if its Victor or Victory as long as he can PLAY!
Hopefully. At least it gives them some size. And he's older - will turn 22 (on March 15) just before Hofstra plays in the NCAA tourney (see what I did there?).
Looks like he didn't play in 2023-24. Wonder if he was hurt then and if so, how? He was with two teams in 2024-25. Looks like he didn't do much in 2022-23 or in the higher league he was in during 2024-25 before putting up some good numbers in limited time (9.0 pts, 5.0 reb, 0.5 blk in 15.3 mins) with a new team in a lower league in Spain.
He was playing mostly against smaller defenders but he clearly has ability. Good hands! Uses both hands. Looks agile.
He could really make a difference. Maybe make Sunday a better player in the process.
Looks like a great find! Who found him?
So what's our new projected depth chart (with likely the full roster in place now)?
G - Cruz
G - Carlos Lopez
G/F - German
G/F - Biggie Patterson
C - Victory
Bench:
G - Edmead
G - Jaeden Roberts
F - DeCady
C - Sunday
Still leaves the 4 transfer guards and Amir Williams battling for 1 or 2 spots in this scenario (Is the Roberts kid gonna play/somebody reshirting?). And obviously DeCady and Edmead by all accounts have the potential to easily move into the starting lineup sooner than later.
Seems like a perfectly adequate mid major team now with room to surprise. But the top 3 teams in the conference are so stacked (and more experienced), still very hard to see a path to being a true contender. But if this Victory kid can play really will make a huge difference
Mark, there are too many unknowns
We can't go by potential
The top three teams have proven CAA quality players
Our recruits and transfers while they seem to have potential, we have not seen them against CAA quality competition
Let's not get ahead of ourselves
D1 Dockets has Iona, Quinnipiac, Norfolk St., and Bucknell on the schedule, in addition to games listed on the Hofstra website, where those four games are NOT shown. Anyone know if those games are on? If not, there are no out-of-conference home games?

DutchPride86: Where do Morgan, Reaves, Boyd and Wills fit into your analysis? They didn't come here to ride pine and admire the Mack?
Its a good question. If they go 10 deep at least one of them will make the regular rotation. And I think its certainly possible any of them could jump Carlos Lopez or the freshman guards. On paper Lopez at least produced at a higher level when he played 2 yrs ago and the freshman are fairly highly touted, which is why I put them ahead for now. But outside of Cruz feels like the entire guard rotation truly may be TBD and change multiple times throughout the course of the season
