Jaquan does not have any eligibility left. He is in the portal, as are many others, who had hoped the NCAA would change their rules concerning a fifth year of eligibility for everyone. That has not happened.

Re: 2025-26 MBB
Looking at the individual players on the roster, aside from the height issue, this might be an underrated team….Some very decent shooters. I say we go 10 or 11 deep with guys who can give solid minutes. Cruz will be the star. Looking for breakout year from Cady and improvement from Sunday. Edmead could be a big surprise at point. The kid can be special.

Agree with Cruz comment and Edmead will be good but don't think that will surprise anyone as he comes in with a nice resume. The rest is wishful thinking with lots of unknowns with guys who never played with each other. Thinking about surprise players my feeling is Lopez may surprise some people.
Re: 2025-26 MBB
Still hoping for another big. We need someone at least serviceable.
Right now we are completely lost if DeCady or Sunday gets injured.

We are in the same boat as everyone else. Syracuse has 11 new players...the 6-7 kid from Iona could certainly play up front if need be.
And, I too, would like to see another BIG on the roster.
I do hear there may be something in the works, fingers crossed.

If we could get a serviceable guy 6’9 or bigger, this team should be serviceable. I’ve seen crazy things come March - maybe this team will be a sleeper.HUSID74 wrote:We are in the same boat as everyone else. I am sure the staff is supremely aware that they need a big.
Maybe they have several candidates and are holding out for their best option.
We used to do well with Lithuanian bigs. Maybe thinking outside of the country. Keep the faith in the staff!

Have been wondering why our European recruiting has seemed to run dry. Thought i read that Rich Laurel was our Euro connection. Anyone have any thing of that?
Re: 2025-26 MBB
Hofstra lost SEVEN games last year by 7 points or less. Lots of dumb mistakes at the end of the games doomed last year’s team. The guys who made most of those mistakes are gone. Let’s hope this year’s group is tougher and smarter at the finish line.

Re: 2025-26 MBB
Looking at the 2025-26 MBB schedule as of today on D1 Docket, there are only two home nonconference games, Norfolk State and Quinnipiac. I'm guessing there will also be a D-2 or D-3 local opponent for the annual game with the local school classes on a weekday at about 11:00 am. Does anyone know the amount of nonconference games allowed by the NCAA in addition to the 18 CAA games?
Re: 2025-26 MBB
The Quinnipiac game, Pecora's homecoming, is circled on the calendar!
Re: 2025-26 MBB
The NCAA allows 13 nonconference games. With 13 teams, not every CAA team can play on the same day, so I am wondering if conference games will start a week sooner.
Re: 2025-26 MBB
This just showed up on verbal commits. Hoping its already a done deal!
HU offers JUCO 7'0" center Riley Dunn. He played one year at Monroe JC.
Played approx 14 mpg, 4 ppg, and 4 rpg.
Shoots FT at roughly 80%
High school video - moves pretty well for a 7 footer
