Agree theprogram should be more transparent and communicative, but our fan base should not sit on its hands and do nothing.
Here’s the sad thing. Each regular member of this group could contribute 10k each, and it wouldn’t move the needle.

You’re right…it would take probably $100K from each regular member on this board to even sniff something

And it wouldn't even be acknowledged. In my view Cole has got to go. He's a nothingburger.
You’re right. The sad thing is I don’t even know who we could get to replace him that would do better. Maybe he’s handcuffed because he doesn’t get money he needs? IDK
Rick is being paid over half a mil here so I would say he has a major responsibility/accountability to our sports department. The problem may be that Dr Poser(salary over a million) may not be setting the bar high enough or just has a passing interest in sports. At the end of the day this is an institution so the priority is and should be academics. We can dance around this subject till the end of time but it seems at the heart of this problem is $$$$. Until we can get more info. it's pure conjecture.
PD Dutch to answer your question if Rick Cole where to leave the person who could replace him is Bill Smith of Bryant University
Look at his bio and his accomplishments at Bryant University guiding them from division two to division one going to the America East conference, and becoming one of the better programs there in such a short period of time
If you think that it's only about athletics, take a look at what the student athletes at Bryant University have accomplished in the classroom
Unfortunately, I think if he comes here, he will be neutered by the president of the university much like what happened to Jack Hayes when Rabinowitz was president

Did Jack Hayes do much for Hofstra? I know he left to go to brown. But when he was at Hofstra did he do well for us?
Jack Hayes has not been the Brown AD since 2021. He is now the AD at Nichols College in Massachusetts since March of 2022. In my family, he will always be remembered as part of the assassins of our beloved football program in December of 2009.

Totally forgot he was the AD during that time. NVM, he did nothing and thankful he’s gone

Yup-just looked it up and he’s making $533K a year. I’m sure we could get someone better for a lot less expensive. I recall the AD at Wofford (better basketball than Hofstra last couple years in terms of at least getting to the tourney and even going deep in the tourney) didn’t even make half of that. I think the AD at UNCW makes around $250K. Maybe it’s time to fire Cole and go elsewhere
Let me say this again it's not Rick Cole that is holding back Hofstra athletics. It's the president of the university and the BOT that controls the purse strings.
Fun fact...though athletics may be facing hard times, US News & World Report ranks Hofstra's Zucker medical school as a Tier 1 (top 16 nationally!) research school. Check out some of our peers on that list.

From what I read and heard our medical school overall is a tier 3 school but our research part of the school is in fact a tier 1 and is 1 of two rated that high in the state of NY along with the University of Rochester.
Could not find the post, but I thought I recall someone (maybe HUSID) said we had another signing but had not been officially announced yet? Is that still true??
