I may be the odd man out here, and I do appreciate what Carlos did, however, I’m not sad to see him go. I don’t see Carlos as an explosive guard - he’s always seemed a step slow to me. But hey, what do I know. On that note, I wish him the best in his next stage.
Dubar #15 on ranking of top 50 transfers in the portal:
"15. Darlinstone Dubar, 6-8, SF, Jr., Hofstra Pride
Given his size and ability to make shots from the perimeter, Dubar will be sought after. Averaged 17.8 points and 6.8 rebounds, making 40% of his 3s. Had 24 and 8 against Duke."
The rankings also have CAA members Amari Williams (#32) and Jyare Davis (#40) along with Ante Brzovic as an honorable mention. Four representatives on the list is confirmation of a lot of CAA talent leaving.
Ben Burnham has now joined Brzovic in the portal at Charleston. Wonder if they're expecting Kelsey to take the Louisville job?
Also means that between graduations and transfers 11 of the 15 players that made up the 3 all-CAA teams this year are gone. Trazarien White, Dell'Orso, Reyne Smith and Landon Glasper are the 4 left standing

So much for that "Our City" nonsense. "Our NIL money" and "Our better opportunity elsewhere" are their real mantras.
It seems Louisville wants Richard Pitino but Kelsey is certainly in the running as a fallback.

Sean Moore had a team-high 19 points (two short of Edey's game-high 21) in FDU's shocking upset over Purdue in last year's NCAAT.
Got the same people marketing them. Both produced the same way, same music & graphics.
Does this really work? I would think teams would do better homework than this. Anyone can look good stringing all of the good highlights together in a 3-4 minute clip. I'd want to know how the bad games looked as well and I'd want to talk to basketball people who've seen them play live on a regular basis if I hadn't seen them play live myself.

Wait till they find out he's 6'6" and not a guard
thats pretty funny (and true) - big fan of DD -but have a hard time seeing how he would get his (outside) shot off against a tougher (bigger/quicker) opponent

Well, now we know why Brzovic and Burnham hit the portal instead of staying. Kelsey to Louisville.
"Our City." Yeah, okay... no loyalty, come on. They all do what's best for themselves. Those mantras are silly. They're not real.
Yep, Charleston is the one school in this conference that actually had the money to keep its star players. For Brzovic and Burnham to leave they had to be preparing for Kelsey to do the same. Wonder if Reyne Smith goes next?
Also I guess the one advantage to Speedy failing to win the league to date is that we don't have to worry about him getting poached this coaching cycle

Charleston freshman guard Jordan Crawford has also entered the portal.
As we've already seen, Kelsey's departure is going to make it very tough to keep what the Cougars haven't already lost (which is a lot in Brzovic and Burnham, and now Crawford) and it'll make it difficult to restock with quality replacements. We may see a vastly different result for Charleston next year than the past two years, which would open it up for whoever else (including HU, depending on their portal results?) to step in as the team to beat.

That didn't take long... Reyne Smith did indeed join the rest of that team in the portal. Outside of UNCW and Towson pretty much rest of the conference gonna be entirely brand new rosters next season
I honestly think in this state of College MB, Speedy can thrive as a recruiter and a coach. Charleston imploding is a spark for us. Don’t be surprised if JC or DD exit the portal back to Hofstra.

Would love it but I doubt it. That would suggest they both left because they thought they couldn't get past Charleston and get to the NCAA tourney. I think they see what Estrada did and they want to likewise get paid and not only make the dance, but win games in it. Whether they end up in a similar situation and are able to help their teams do that (especially Carlos) remains to be seen, but that's what I think they are thinking rather than, "Oh, the CAA is open with Charleston not what it once was, let's go back." I don't think they're thinking that at all.
