It would be great if we could guard Tavon Allen.

Not sure, I'm not watching, only listening to he WRHU feed and following live stats. But so far he has 23 points, so whatever we're doing clearly isn't working.

We're down 50-49 with 8 minutes left and Rokas just picked up his fourth foul. We're about to see if we can rise to the occasion yet again.

Great vision from Juan'ya. Looks like Drexel may try hack-a-rok?

We pull it out 70-64, another very close game. Our free-throw shooting was the opposite of our last game--we went 26-31 at the stripe.

Rok goes 4-4 FT in last minute and another double/double. Way to go big man.

Good balanced scoring - way to get it together in the last part of the game.

Nice contributions from JWF and AW.

Gustys even made several free throws in a row! Hack-A-Rok didn't work today!

Things are getting interesting! May have to catch a few minutes of the UNCW CoC game at 7pm. If CoC plays tough, we could be alone in first. :D

This is a gut win I will take, a trap game and we win - terrible 1st half, especially shooting 0/12 from the 3 points in the first half!!!

helluva lot better 2nd half shooting -better team D in the 2nd half

AW - although his stat line wouldn't necessarily show it - he helped out big time today as RG had an off night (I am embarrassed of my self to call it an off night when RG had a double double and he was 5/6 from the line in the 2nd half - sorry RG thats what happens when you raised the bar so high).

Good come back W boys.

Sounded like green and tanksley had more Hofstra fans at this game than some of our home gameS.

Hofstra made 26 out of 31 free throw (.839), which is our second best of the season. Hofstra made 28 out of 33 (.849) at St. Bonaventure. Hofstra made only 4 out of 20 three-pointers (.200), which is our second worst of the season. Our two worst games in three-point field goal percentage were both against Drexel. Hofstra has allowed only 9 free throws made in their last two games, which is the fewest Hofstra has allowed in any two consecutive games since at least 2005-2006. Drexel had an amazing assist/turnover ratio of 3.2 (16 to 5), which is the best by a Hofstra opponent since Sacred Heart on December 4, 2013. That was 81 games ago. It was the best assist/turnover ratio by an opponent who lost to Hofstra since at least 2005-2006.

Edit: In the first half, no Hofstra player scored more than 4. In the second half, all five Hofstra starters scored at least 6. Terrell Allen, who was second on Drexel with 10.5 points per game going into the game, did not score and committed 4 fouls. http://gohofstra.com/boxscore.aspx?path=mbball&id=6999 is the box score.

The game will be on SNY tomorrow, but it's on live TV in some or all of 35 states. If the game wasn't available online because SNY didn't want it to, there should be a message that the game is blacked out in my area rather than the video not playing anything or providing any message.
SNY didn't carry the Hofstra game because it was showing its annual high school basketball tournament, the SNY Invitational, live today.

Good old pick and roll. I like the way his teammates came off the bench to congratulate Walker. Mayne now JAM will have more confidence in him.

Didn't catch this one. Obviously, not making the 3 in the first half (0/12) hurt a lot, but sounds like shot selection was good in the second half on those (only took 8 then and made half).

Three other two sets of numbers that jump off the page though are:

1) Efficiency offensively improved dramatically from the first half to the second: HU made 10 shots in each half, but on 30 attempts in the first half, and on almost half that (16 attempts) in the second half.

2) Looks like defensively, the game plan was to let Tavon Allen get his but don't allow anyone else to beat them, and that worked. Drexel held to the same 64 that HU allowed in its previous game. And that's after 63 against W&M. So, 64, 64, 63 is a very nice 3-game run with points allowed during this current 4-game win streak, which has propelled the Dutch from an okay 4-2 to a very solid 8-2 ahead of the big showdown with UNCW. But check these numbers:
Tavon Allen: 33 pts, 12/24 fg
Rest of Drexel: 31 pts, 12/50 fg

3) Free throws and fouls. HU goes 26/31, and the Rok - 5/8! There ya go, big fella! That'll remove that Hak-a-Rok strategy! In comparison, Drexel just 8/12. So 19 more attempts and 18 more makes on Drexel's floor. Have to be proud of that. Second half, HU 22/25, Drexel 5/8 -- that wins the game right there (although, not sure how much of that was Drexel fouling late to get back in the game, or just plain aggressiveness and taking it to the hoop all second half on HU's part). But knowing that they're limited rotation wise, HU learning how to play better D without fouling too much. Yes, Rok had the 4, but only 14 fouls as a team and 22 for Drexel. Also Walker with 3 fouls in 9 minutes. That's big because maybe those 3 keep Rok from fouling out and someone like Tanksley (3 PFs) from getting into foul trouble.
