I think the point about Tomasco was missed here. Nobody was obsessing about him being a key chip in this years team but if he had left the team we were more thinking about another scholarship being available. That was the point. As far as JC is concerned he needs to be playing far better then last year otherwise he will not be our starting pg. He needs to score and play better D and also needs a decent assists to turnover ratio. He will not be just given the starting job. We have a lot of guards and experienced ones. I want to see him succeed that’s for sure.

The roster is up, but it is not the default page on the website. You have to choose it from the drop-down menu:

https://gohofstra.com/sports/mens-baske ... er/2022-23

Looks like we have a walk-on:

Literally and figuratively - Dubar grows on me - now listed at 6'8" (when we recruited him Iowa State listed him at 6'6" ... 2021-22 we listed him at 6'7") ...
I see big numbers in his future - now sporting #55 (his #### at Iowa State) a spike up from his last season #0 (now being worn by Williams)

It's funny how gohofstra says he's 5'9" but his website says 6'0. Now what's the real truth here??

Probably closer to 5-9, but his highlight reel shows him dunking...pretty good hops!

Yes he can get over the rim but what's his role here? A practice player that can play in your face defense and maybe someone who has some O skills to help sharpen our defense?

That would be my guess triplec. Probably a guy who loves to play the game and wants to be on a team (but lacks the overall talent/size to get recruited). But heck, you never know with some of these guys who eventually develop an important spot/role for themselves.

Well, Aiden was the second-leading scorer in Nassau County last season, so he can put some points on the board. He also seems to be a hard-working and focused player. Let’s see how he develops.

Yeah IDK the competition they played against but they play L.I. Lutheran B team and they also play Portledge. Portledge was a good team ranked high on long island but they got blown out. Lawrence -Woodmere academy lost one game by 50 the other by 40. Needless to say they were not a good team. Also I don't find any h.s. highlights of this kid. What's up with that? Second leading scorer in Nassau County 29 points a game there should be tons of video on him, no?

I wouldn't worry too much about him...he will be a practice player for the forseeable future.

Absolutely correct HUSID, fully agree. Nice walkon addition, pure and simple. No need for us to over-analyze his role. TC, I know what you mean and the desire to gain clarity on guys like this or Tomasco, but it is funny to me lol, this board goes does tend to lock in at times on guys who will never be major starting factors - some guys are here to bolster the bench and the practice squad, end of story - that is their role, and it's a highly valuable one - nothing else to it :)

I like this kid, he's got some skill, and seems like a solid young man so far - positive addition no matter the role.

daHUPride, sure you've already seen me say it before, but I agree 100% on Dubar, I'm all in on this kid, I think he has huge impact ability and I hope he and the staff find the rhythm to maximize him - this dude can just about do it all, and all pretty well - I want to see staff maturity and not getting wrapped up in one star game planning and players that value hero-ball more than actually winning championships like HU has fallen victim of in the past

Balance this team out and get Dubar involved a LOT - game plan FOR him - my bet is it will pay BIG dividends
