So last year they were 8-23 and 1-17 in the conference. Is this how we build a strong OOC schedule?? I wonder who else we're lining up on the West Coast. A UCLA rematch??

We were originally supposed to play at San Fransisco during the 2020/21 season so maybe will make up that game.

SJS Coach Tim Miles was hired in 2021. He has a record of turning programs around. Maybe they will be better this year.

Surely we will play at least two on the West Coast, possibly three...SJS should be a win so I can see us playing a bigger guarantee game.

If HU schedules a few games in the west, it will be a very busy first few days to the schedule. So far, at SJSU on the Monday, November 7th and Iona at home on Friday, November 11th. This almost seems like an NBA schedule.

Good point but we could play the weekend BEFORE SJSU.

I thought the first day for college games in November 2022 was November 7th.

Hated the SJS game the first time, not liking any more now lol - but not every opponent will be Kentucky. Fine with it as long as they maximize the trip - some great programs in CA, HU should be playing a couple of them while out there. Have to believe they will...

Why doesn't HU ever get into the big tournaments anymore?? Why am I always seeing other mid majors playing in those and not HU? There are a lot of them, great traditions and reputations, great opps to play with the big boys, maybe even get some actual TV time instead of the 2nd rate Flosports crap. Not to mention the chance to play in more tournaments to get better at it, which this program desperately needs.

And what about a pre-season Euro trip many programs do?? Seems a great way to get more early work in.

I need to see more things that many other programs are doing to develop, improve, and better themselves for the year. Too much in-season time is taken to do things other programs are doing MUCH earlier because HU spends the entire time working on itself behind closed doors. A couple of 'secret' scrimmages here and there, but that's not enough today. We shouldn't have to wait until Feb to see signs of life. They need to do better.

And spare me the $ excuse. This is THE flagship sport for HU. Fund it.

I think COVID killed alot of those trips...and there is some NCAA rule about how often you can take them.

As for tournaments...AGREED...would like to see us in something of note. Still time though.

So you want to play LSU now that they have turned over their entire roster. It's a great idea with an entire new roster of players how good could they be??

I have no idea how good they will be. Any P5 conference team we can play I would be all for.

I was at the Hofstra Athletics Hall of Fame event last night and one of the silent auction prizes was trip to see Hofstra face Purdue next season.

Yes, I was there too! Looks like we are opening against Purdue this season, there will be a second game on the West Coast and maybe another tournament typw of event in addition to the UMASS game at Barclays.

SWEET! Good job Speedy and staff.

Always liked the idea of a tough OOC schedule. Last year's was one of the best I can recall. From what we know, this year's looks to be off to a very good start. With the recent changes to the CAA, playing well in the OOC will be the best way to get noticed, get some early season recognition, and really challenge the team.

Tough way to open but they lose their top player and we proved against Houston we can win games like this. If nothing else will give us exposure on Big Ten Network.

LOVE it! That is a SUPER OOC game, top 10 program, lots of recent media juice, these big time openers are awesome - gets the team focused during the off season, and forces them to get serious fast and come out swinging from game 1. Not worried at all - ANYTHING can happen the first game of the year - excited to see Estrada & Co. have this opportunity - these early matchups are where lots of mids can sneak in P5 W's before the big boys get their traction.

Whatever other west coast team they play needs to be a big one - SJS is awful, def need to balance that far trip with a resume boosting program. Add in a QUALITY tournament and this could be another great schedule... getting there Speedy, keep it going
