Amen to that Stu.

Towson is in the same boat that we are in terms of recruiting a hotbed, and they've broken through.

The men's lacrosse team has choked in every big situation for a decade straight, we can't win a meaningful game in the CAA. It's crossed over from frustrating to embarrassing years ago. Yes the players dictate the outcome of our performance to a large extent but there is only one constant over the last decade. If NCAA lacrosse is a whole different world today, maybe we need a different staff to navigate that world.

Good gracious we need a LIKE feature here. X a million.

Not completely apples to apples since Towson is a public university so can more easily grab local kids with far less money.

If anyone is watching 6-3 Drexel at the half. Hofstra is turnover city and the defense is shaky. Defense constantly out of position and even falling down (been seeing a lot of that this year from Hofstra for whatever reason). This is not looking good so far.

Ho Hum another loss. Can we drop men's lax and restart football? It just keeps getting worse in my view.

Very frustrating game to say the least. Good news is Towson lost to Delaware so we can still make CAA Tourney with a win against Fairfield Friday and a Towson loss to Drexel Saturday. Never a good feeling not having control of your own destiny, but at least we still have hope.

Have we given Tierney another extension yet? Seems like it would be the right move after this dumpster fire season.

Two honors for Ryan Tierney this week. He made the Tewaaraton "top 25" list and was drafted in the second round by the Professional Lacrosse League.

Only one other CAA player (Delaware's Charlie Kitchen) made the Tewaaraton list and only one other CAA player (Jeff Trainor of UMass) was drafted by the PLL.

As for our women's team, I am very disappointed that Alyssa Parrella did not make the women's top 25 list. She holds a ton of scoring records:

Jojo Alyssa is great by Hofstra standards but on a national scale she gets lost among players at the bigger schools Her in conference stats are ordinary as ahe scored a lit of her goals early in the year also I think we have only a .500 record

She is great by any standard and should have been on the list. Hofstra also lost two games to covid or numbers would be even better as would our record. We are still ninth in RPI though because of amazing SOS

Our mens team should have an SOS like the womens team A few years ago SBU had woman lax player who scored over 100 goals in a season she not only set records for a season but also all time leader for a career in womens lax You would think she would win a tweareton award but she cane in second to BC player with lesser numbers I think SBU was ranked #2 going into the NCAAs that year with a top 5 RPI

The player you are referring to is Kylie Ohlmiller and she gave Alyssa a nice shoutout Sunday after she tied her on all-time goal list https://twitter.com/kylieohlmiller/stat ... 16481?s=20

yes but Kylie was who was finalist for Tewaraaton and lost to BC's Sam Apupuzzo in 2018, not Courtney Murphy https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/bs- ... story.html

Either Kylie or Courtney should have won it that year

Courtney Murphy wasn't even a Tewaaraton finalist when she had that amazing season in 2016. Ohlmiller is debatable if she should have won but hard to argue with Apuzzo winning since she had amazing assists and draw controls to go along with goals and beat Stony Brook head-to-head when it mattered most in quarterfinals assisting on game-winner in overtime. She is very close with Shannon Smith being from her hometown of West Babylon.

That was my point Murphy scoring an NCAA record 100 plus goals and she wasnt even considered Allysa has good stats but not anywhere near the 341 career goals Murphy had Its that the NCAA treats the mid majors like second class citizens So Im not surprised Allysa was snubbed

SBU lost to Md. in the finals a few years back with what I thought was much the better team due in part to a ludicrous disparity in the fouls/infractions called; favoring Md. The pedigrees do invariably get the benefit of the doubt.
