Amazing win! Might be biggest in program history considering BC was ranked #22. Next a winnable second round game against Wisconsin, who was 36 in RPI.ProudofPride wrote:Women's soccer just beat #22 Boston College 4-1 in the first round of the NCAA tournament! Boston College had more shots, 28 to 6, and more shots on goal, 8 to 4, but didn't have any saves. Olivia Vaughn, who was tied for 85th with 9 goals before the NCAA Tournament, had 10 shots of which 4 were on goal.
Hofstra goes to Stanford, who is undefeated and the defending champions. Hopefully the area isn't affected by fires. It's nice to play Wisconsin at a site that isn't near either team. Compare that to Softball, where South Carolina hosted Hofstra's regional, and UNC Greensboro and Liberty were much closer to it than Hofstra was. There was also Hofstra's Softball regional at Florida where the other teams were Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast.

First time being the #1 seed since 2006, per Hofstra Volleyball twitter. WRHU announcers kept saying JMU would be #1 due to have a higher win percentage, I guess someone didn't do their homework with that research.
Huge congrats to the team, and the best part is how young they are.

I said it was a partial rebuilding year earlier and I caught some heat for that. We were picked third preseason. Appleton and Skinner both freshmen were big contributors this year.

Men's soccer lost the CAA title game in penalty kicks. Rough way for the season to end.

This was a typically good Richard Nuthall team. Starts off the season slow as he figures out his rotation and the team gets stronger as the season goes on. He has them well prepared for the CAA tournament. Unfortunately the team doesn't have a strong enough resume to get an at large this year.

Re: Other Fall Sports
The fourth quarter was better to lose 77-49. Brozoski led us with 11 points but shot field goals 3-for-15.
Should Women's Basketball get its own topic? It's a winter sport, not a "fall" sport like the title says.

We allowed a goal 1:05 in and trail 2-0. The game was supposed to start at 7:35 P.M. but it started about an hour and a half late. The video isn't working. They're 30:47 in.

Video isn’t working because there is no video due to the location change. The game had to be moved off site because of poor air quality from the fires. The team toured San Francisco yesterday and had to wear masks so they didn’t breathe in the smoke.
Re: Other Fall Sports
Hofstra lost 6-0. Santa Clara, the 3 seed in another region, lost penalty kicks, leaving all of the last 16 from the top six conferences, so no mid-majors went farther than us. The ACC has 7 teams, the Big East has 1, the Pac-12 has 3, the Big 12 has 1, the Big Ten has 2, and the SEC has 2.
