Of interest there is John Hall a 6-7 kid out of Philadelphia...not sure of the status of the NCAA transfer rule provisions. There was talk about kids leaving programs where the coach left, they would not have to sit a year.
Anyone know status of that?
They're suppose to vote on the NCAA transfer rule changes in June I believe. What about Corey Manigault; He came out of the same H.S. that Jamall Robinson did a basketball factory but also went to the same JC as Kenny Wormley . Maybe We have some connections here to both these schools and this kid would be a nice catch! It appears he transferred to Pitts burg but now has decommited.

At 6'6" and 230 lbs. kid is built more like a forward. Check out his video - actually shows some defensive highlights, blocks, etc. Kid also averages about 15 ppg with 9 rebs. Maybe he is one of those types who can wreak havoc on opposing guards with a huge advantage in size/bulk. Seems to shoot from anywhere on the court. Flexibility/ defense/size = maybe, maybe, maybe. Has 3 years of eligibility.

His video highlights say 2019.

Tariq Evans, 6-11 forward has announced he's leaving St. John's. He's immediately eligible for one more year. Apparently Maryland is on him...come Joe...would be great to sign a St. John's guy.

likely no chance at all on that one, but a big athletic guy like that who blocks shots (2.8 per game last season) would be an ideal addition.

You never know what someone wants out of a college experience. The draw of going to school near New York City could be something that interests him or as you mention he could want to stay close to home. We just don't know.

He's offered by Loyola (C) - playing for Regional Championship and spot in Final Four and he's going to HU - lol

Well safe to say Loyola has put themselves on the map and will have quite a bit of ink to help their recruiting.

HU Classifieds:

Wanted: POY replacement from day 1 of the '18-'19 season. Must possess a strong handle, ability to make shots from anywhere, skill to grab rebounds among trees, and the court vision to create opportunities for teammates. Defense = optional, but a nice to have.

 just kidding.

I really don't think JWF is really out, but if he is, boy did this recruiting season just get a lot more concerning. If you want to see what impact depending on the last minute can really have, just imagine having to replace 2 key bigs, land a top point, PLUS all of a sudden have to replace a POY, all at the same time.

Such a huge help and relief to have 1 or 2 already locked up so that when crazy things happen you're not scrambling.

Based upon what I hear and what I've been told Justin will be back at HU after the draft or even earlier.

As for "waiting" to sign kids that is just not true...if we COULD have signed kids we wanted earlier we would have.

My point is I have no idea what this student athlete wants out of the college he decides to go to. Maybe you have some insight into it but my point was some people don't want to stay local for college and Loyola (C) being in his home town could be a negative; I just have no idea. All I m saying is lets not write off a recruit just because some other school is going after him. We might end up having more playing time to offer him with JWF and KW graduating.

Not for nothing but looks like a grown man on the court. He has a mid range game but doesn't look like much of a leaper!

Dane Graduated but he played very little. He came in at 290 and balooned to 335 Lbs. The coaches said he was at McDonalds throwing down Big Macs instead of working out inthe weight room..

260 sounds like ideal weight for 6'10"

Seems like could be a solid pickup
