Agree. Seems like he must have known it was Butler all along though.

Of course, this is my point with these kids getting wrapped up in P5 when they transfer - it's getting ridiculous - you couldn't start at GW in the A10, so transfer to BUTLER in the BIG EAST with a roster of 6-8 high level guards - great plan  - I mean who's advising these kids??

This was a very poor decision in terms of basketball - perhaps other reasons that made sense for him, but if this was just because it's a big program/conf, which the odds are, then just foolish

And he has to sit a yr, who knows who they'll land in the next class on top of who's there - this is a Sweet 16 / Elite 8 type of program - no matter what he was pitched he was brought in to keep the bench warm unless there's an injury - sad - big programs selling these kids fools gold and they seem to be buying it hook line and sinker more and more - would've been a strong one in the CAA with the shine and PT at HU

He should've checked the Butler hoops boards - their fans didn't even want him on campus visiting much less actually taking up a scholly - sentiment is that this type of player is a complete waste of the staffs time - have fun with that

Polite, having said all you said, which I agree, Butler's coaches must have seen something in this kid that would warrant a scholarship.

From a Butler coaching standpoint, they get a good experience back up that frees up another schools for the school in two years. For Butlers rosters - good get. Question is why the kid would want to go there and be another player as opposed coming here and possibly being "the man".
Oh well.

Ok, where do we go from here? We need a couple more pieces to really 'make' this team what we want it to for next season. Another talented wing, maybe a one and done and a solid transfer would complete my list... anyone with any insights, news to report?

What's left out there in terms of someone who can really help us next season ??? I will be disappointed if we begin next season with 3 scholarships still left on the board...this program need depth

P5s recruit players like tbat because they land a quality mid major starter level player and have him ride the pine as a very capable backup - it's a beautiful thing for them

Wiscy wasn't even looking at Ford until they realized a package deal was the best way to land Trice, their REAL target - hey literally swooped in and recruited the kid for a WEEK - it's ridiculous, but what can ya do, these guys get all hyped up on it - this is one reason why the transfer rate has skyrocketed

No offense to PJ has skill but he's not a BE starter, sorry - they landed Memphis transfer Avery Johnson for goodness sake, and the have enough other talented guards to field a full team - I would not be surprised if he's never heard from again on any significant level - Ford has talent too, but Big 10??

Hey kudos to HU for continuing to recruit quality players - no shame in losing to programs like that - HUs challenge is these are late in the game strike outs - they really rolled the dice by waiting till the late period to make the full push to land guys - guess they were banking on making big noise to help the recruiting edge

Unfortunately HU did not get the job done - no matter how much the promote and hype up this season, and it was a good one, the bottom line is they didn't win the CAAT and the didn't get to the dance - that hurts - and I think missing that element plays a bit of a factor, esp for mids who need every edge they can get - guys want the real shot to play nationally - HU needs to get it done

Who's left that can add value that HU can land? No idea. But this isn't what you want to see - a team that needs depth now forced to scramble for a last minute guy - I know they won't settle, but they need to be careful not to be in this position again - can't count on things like making the dance to save your recruiting - gotta play aggressive - agree 100% there's no excuse to carry 3 open ships, should certainly be able to land at least 1 more

I believ in this staffs recruiting analysis and ability, but it's getting late... Go JM go!

Polite, I'm sure they are in with many guys who we don't even know about... look at some of the additions we have made over the years...Koon, Nesmith, even Rojas.... all was quiet until they were announced. I'm sure there are a few guys they have been working on.

At this point I am hoping they can bring Djambo back to Hofstra in time for summer classes...this would give him the summer and fall on campus to prepare for next season...I was told it is a long shot but possible

Does anyone know if we are going after transfer Nwanko from VCU? Hometown Bronx guy. Would be a great replacement for Rok. After sitting for a year, he and Rok would overlap for one season and then he would have 2 more left.

I'd be ok with Djambo, but a long shot is not promising enough, they need a definite additional guy at the 4 for next season - they need to be aggressively searching at this point for a grad transfer - don't really want a full ship being used last minute for anyone longer than 1-2 yrs, unless it's a true STUD

I think they should be going after a PF somewhere, but just don't get that impression at this point - focus is DEF the stretch 4, but they will absolutely need at least 1 PF in the next class - Nwanko would be a great target

Polito I am sure the coaching staff knows what they need and have a list of candidates. They are not thankfully relying on your posts on this board for directions as what type of recruits to go after. LOL

Could 2 Roks be better than one?
Rokas Ulvydas 6'11" redshirt sophomore from Texas Tech by way of Kaunus Lithuania wants to transfer. Might we be interested?

I would take him in a heartbeat. First of all you cant teach 6'11". Check out the video, the guy has soft hands and a soft shot (yes he has soft shooting free throw shot), seems to want the ball, runs pretty well, has some moves, etc. Honestly, he already has more offensive moves that when RG came to town. Definitely not a leaper, but heck, neither is RG. And the video is from prep school - looks like a lot of potential.

Even if he never gets to an RG level, he looks to be a good 2nd team big man.

HOLD IT GUYS!!!

Didn't you hear? All of this discussion, thought, and opinion is nothing but drivel, completely irrelevant, and a total waste of everyone's time! Forget having FUN! What the heck is that? Don't you dopey's know?? The coaching staff will take care of everything, and we'll find out when we find out, so there's really no point at all in discussing or having any opinion on anything at all whatsoever.

Sorry, but the self-appointed leader of the message board has spoken - shut her down boys!

Anyone else getting a bit nervous about these last few schollies? It's starting to look a bit like slim pickings out there... Carrying over a few to next year wouldn't be the end of the world, as I think we have a strong roster for next season as it is. I just don't expect as good of a season this upcoming season, and as a result, I don't see us having that much more luck recruiting-wise by this time next year...

Anyone know of any transfers of '16 recruits we're looking at?

Absolutely - went and looked at when the ROK announcement was made - unfortunately early May. We need something NOW. I'm thinking Wisconsin dealt an unforeseen blow to our recruiting.
