Where is he going? Thought he would be a lifer at Hofstra. Where was this announced?
Thoughts on his replacement? This is a tough time of the year to leave.
Wish him well.

Had a lot of the same thoughts. He announced it on his Instagram account.

This is a very weird situation agree with HUSID figured he was a permanent fixture here so why leave and why right now!!

Massive loss for Hofstra athletics. He has gone above and beyond in his SID role and is truly irreplaceable. I hope in short-term we can find someone with experience to take on his many responsibilities, especially with MBB season starting soon.

Yes, we will miss Stephen and I wish him the best. He has been here since his student days, but no one is irreplaceable. Who knows, maybe he’ll continue to attend men’s basketball and other games.

For sure good luck to Stephen but would love to know what his next adventure would be. He mentioned the recent loss of his mother a determining factor.

Wow, agree this is a big surprise to me - if it's personal / family related, that would make sense. Guy's work has never been my favorite because I loathe total homerism, but there is no question he bled HU, and for that, I will always appreciate what he brought to the table. We need all the fans we can get, and there's no question he's been leading that charge at the university.

I would certainly count this as a loss, but agree this isn't 'irreplaceable'. In fact, I think it's a unique opportunity to bring in a different perspective - HU is making some real changes in it's way of working, much of which we have begged for and never seen in this admin, so this could fit in nicely with HU's efforts to step into the new world with purpose.

Let's get someone in here who can support that mission and elevate this university during the most crucial and tumultuous time in college athletics.
