HOLY COW, I was literally JUST about to post that we should watch the recent VT opening, that they should and likely would go for the JMU coach - it's a super fit

This is fantastic news for HU - reason why I wanted to post this is because I think they've been the biggest thorn in HU's NCAA side for the women - great coach - with him out of the picture things look very good for HU

The door is open Coach K, you are the class of the conf IMO - time for this program to DANCE!!

I understand that 4 days into his tenure as coach of Rutgers, Pikell lands his first recruit. Player is from a prep school in Jersey. BTW- something going on at SBU. His top asst has not been named head coach yet. Could it be that SBU will go in another direction. Stay tuned........

The kid he signed is a two star kid, was probably recruiting him for SBU. Spoke to a contact who knows SBU well and he said as a state school any job has to be posted for 30 days... we'll see

They can still appoint him head coach. So long as the posting stays up. Rutgers is a state school and they acted very quickly on Pikell. Something is going on behind the scenes here.

Jay Young (SBU's top assistant) is one of the leading candidates for the Central Connecticut job (along with former HU assistant Pat Sellers). SBU is a much better job than CCSU, so it would be a shame for him if SBU doesn't bite first.

They may want someone who has or had head coaching experience. They have a rebuilding year at SBU next year.

The AD at SBU did not hire Pikiell and his crew...he probably wants one of his guys...that's how it usually works.

That's one of the reasons I think he will go in another direction. Don't be surprised if Pikell takes his coaching staff with him to Rutgers all his assts will get big raises I think we might see some familiar names on SBUs short list. Stay tuned.......

Heard he already took one or two but he better get a real recruiter and someone who knows the Big Ten or he'll be dead

No jojo he has only had two years as a head coach at Adelphi. One has been a head coach and the other an asst at a major.

Cant see why Mo wouldn't get a serious look - almost a native LI'er, with strong upstate and New England ties (areas where SB plays) - was put in a few really sh*tty situations - learned from his mistakes - always handle himself with utmost class - and still really young to grow with a program - I would have no problem with that hire if I were a SB fan

Not Mo either. One would be a good fit because of his ties to the AAU coaches in the city. The other has a pipeline to European players. SBU has seen the success of GW with their international players.

Just spill the beans, Stu. No need to be so mysterious.
