Ludicrous you're being facetious. So LOL if we offered him half a million he would already be out of the portal. I believe we offered him 6 figures but how much in 6 digits??

I am VERY skeptical Cole even made a real offer - Cole seems very resigned to just lose that game - he doesn't strike me as a fighter, he seems the type to just throw up his hands in a ho hum fashion and go 'oh well we have no shot, we wish you all the best kid!'

Perhaps Speedy made a play with Cole, but I'll need valid confirmation to believe it. I get the impression HU isn't ready to put up fights like this - as a U we seem very accepting of just not being able to even try, instead of going out there and securing more funds and giving our absolute best shot. That takes a lot of hard work. Just my opinion, I could be wrong, but I didn't get any impression from folks in Tampa that HU was willing to go out there and work their butts off to make something happen, or at least put up a fight to give him something to think about - my bet is HU figured it was lost and let it happen with 0 counter. Would love to be proven wrong.

My guess is HU 'could' go up to about $250k MAX - even that would likely be our top end, pushing it - $150 more realistic, considering we need to pay Cruz too, among others. Edmead will easily get a minimum of $500k and he is very likely to be closer to $1M considering he's only a frosh with a massive upside and years to give and proved he can hang with an Elite 8 team on the national stage. Kids a stud.

I FULLY agree he should take 1 more year here to season and size up, he'll be super stud next year with another round of Speedy development. But I get it, the iron's hot for him, and I'm quite sure he'll put on weight either way, as all young athletes do - 185 next year for him is very likely no matter where he suits up.
