I don't understand why they don't just move it to the Mack Sports Complex, is it being used for something that day?

This could be a tough one to miss but I'm sure your wife will fill you in. This should definitely have some media coverage I wonder if Flo sports will video this and show it afterwards! Of course Hofstra will but a lot of people showing interest as I walk around everywhere with Hofstra basketball garb. Even some Johnnies fans!!HUSID74 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 9:51 amYes, like my wife as I'm still in Florida watching where they send us so Ican book the trip!triplec2195 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2026 4:38 pm It's good to see all the support for this program maybe we'll have some special surprise guests!!

Yeh should be fun...saving my bullets for the actual game if it's not on the West Coast!triplec2195 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2026 11:17 amThis could be a tough one to miss but I'm sure your wife will fill you in. Start the viewing party early for the WBB final!
Re: Selection Sunday viewing party
Exactly! They really should! That game is at 2 pm, the doors for the watch party open at 5 pm, about an hour after that game ends.
I can't imagine what the watch party will be like if the women clinch too! What a time for Hofstra Hoops!

Incredible performance from this team and preached over and over again from Danielle but who would have believed that it wasn't just coach talk. Now with a bit of Irish or just Dutch luck maybe just maybe we can pull one of the biggest upsets of the year in women's college basketball!

Really good spotlight on the team including a cameo from Jay Wright and some funny anecdotes from Jay about Speedy doing his own thing after Jay called a play out. Also a Biggie impersonation of Speedy really funny stuff they worked into the plug of the team and a mention of the women's team playing for the CAA championship.

Good turnout? Hard to tell on TV...my wife was there!

Really good turnout and a lot of tables setup with good food. Wa able to talk to some players got some pictures and talked with Speedy and Preston. People that think he's short should be standing next to him. I believe he's all of 6'1. This was set up well with Speedy speaking before the actual selections and the crowd making a lot of noise chanting Lets go Hofstra! I'm happy I went and Speedy a very popular guy on campus!

Great event, strong crowd and a lot of excitement! I'm not a big photo guy, but I couldn't resist taking one with the championship trophy. Coaches and players were walking around conversing, great vibes. During the selection show, the video feed on the big screen cut from the program to our room after St. John's was announced, everyone rightfully thought that meant we got the 12 vs St John's! Obviously that ended up being some kind of technical glitch, hilarious seeing the confusion, and ultimately the joy of getting the 13 vs Bama in Tampa.
Thanks again to the staff for putting it together and doing a great job all year!

We''ll now forever be known as the school that celebrated twice on the Selection Sunday show. I was completely duped by it and couldn't believe Hofstra got a 12 and was paired with St. John's... until they weren't!Flying Dutchmen wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2026 11:49 pm Great event, strong crowd and a lot of excitement! Then later, I couldn't believe who they drew since I was only joking about this with Estrada earlier on Sunday:

Love the range of expressions here from everyone in the front row in the first pic here, and love Edmead's and German's the most:

Not sure if anyone cares but apparently the UNI team was watching the video of Hofstra celebrating and CBS was showing UNI's blank reaction with the audio of Hofstra celebrating. While we at the viewing party saw our feed on the projector. Reporters in the Cedar Falls area have shared my video of our reaction as they're not particularity happy about their moment being ruined by CBS. Oh well. But yes event was great, I give it a 10/10 considering the Mack wasn't an option.Wags wrote: ↑Mon Mar 16, 2026 4:39 amWe''ll now forever be known as the school that celebrated twice on the Selection Sunday show. It was a shame. Every team like them deserves its moment. That should never happen but people are human, mistakes can be made.
Re: Selection Sunday viewing party
That makes more sense - was curious how we ended up with that feed - went back to watch the show when i got home and saw that UNI was sadly unaware.
Great job by Hofstra with this event and pleasantly surprised with the turnout (though kept asking my wife where all these people were at the games lol). It was super fun and the team and coaches were very engaging and took time to speak with everyone. My kids got so many pictures and it was a blast for them.
What a great feeling to be a part of the celebration and hoping this is a springboard for this program both for the team and the fan engagement/experience.
