Rick won't take your call. He's likely in Wilmington or taking the day off for President's Day.

Siena isn't a world beater but they are certainly better than our sorry program, so I figured this would be a 'tougher' game on the schedule.

Good ol ST continues to show his worth.

SJU at home could and should be a win next weekend *cough* *cough*, and then at Rutgers for one of their toughest games this year - I fully expect them to get b-slapped in that one. Being 1-2 already is sad, soon to be worse, and as we all know likely the sign of yet another failed year. Just a matter of it playing out in reality now.

Isn't rooting for Hofstra athletics fun?? Poser, Cole, and their merry band of back slappers are doing a helluva job eh. Good times.

"Back slappers.' Perfect. The word I wish i had used. Not sure about Poser, but the rest of cast are milking Hofstra for all they can.

Latest computer lax poll would indicate Hofstra would be favored in only 3 games the balance of the season. One of our losses came against Holy Cross, who is ranked in the bottom 10. The only high probability winnable game would be agsint Hampton, ranked dead last. Our only win to date against Iona, who is ranked 2nd to lowest out of 78 D1 teams. Not good.

Congratulations to Gus Langtry on receiving his first CAA Rookie of the Week award:

I expect he will earn this honor a few more times this season as his playing time increases.

The complete bumbling of the lacrosse program is perhaps shown by the fact that Hofstra has yet to play a home game. The St. John's game has been moved to Farmingdale State. Apparently they have not finished the field at Shuart forgetting that the weather during the winter might have impeded whatever they are doing. We can expect the same should Hofstra decide to rip down Shuart and build something new across the turnpike. What they have done to that once proud and storied program is criminal.

Are you blaming this on Tierny? This is the worst winter we have had in decades. Come on, the field has been delayed stop already.

That's why you do that stuff in the summer or the fall. Not blaming Tierney for the field or weather. But NEWSFLASH outdoor construction is always problematic and more expensive in the winter. I mean did Cole or anyone at grounds think this through?

Perhaps you should ask him or Jay Artinian, director of facilities.

I’m sure HU could’ve done better knowing the poor track record of all the inept leadership there - but it’s also true that nearly every construction project on earth gets delayed and blows budget, esp in winter.

Back to lax

I really want Amplo to be brought back home to lead this program back to relevance. Believe he has a daughter with another year to go in the academy, and then perhaps it would be possible. And this could line up very nicely with ST‘s end.

Need a savvy person to start the firesethtierney.com webpage. It'll take HU another year to even notice or care, so it should still time well with convincing Amplo to come back and save this dead program that ST and the HU admin killed.

I have posted on this subject before.....if you are unhappy with the Hofstra lacrosse program { and I do not know anyone who is happy with it } please contact and communicate your displeasure with those responsible for it's current state of incompetency...Cole and Tierney...they have driven this once proud program into the ground and the most frightening thing is they did not appear to have a hard time in doing this ??? Say something. ..the future does not look bright for Hofstra lacrosse and somebody must be held accountable for it's current state of inferiority... now is the time to insist that changes will be made right away and that procrastination will not ne tolerated... Send them emails and text messages and letters and make phone calls to as many people associated with Hofstra lacrosse as possible !!!!!! Thank you !!!!!!!

garyg; Are they both so oblivious that they need an email from me and others to figure out that the program has become an embarrassing disaster? Really? By the way, a 9 -8 loss today to St. John's with an 8 -6 lead late in the 4th. 3 unanswered SJU goals. Typical Tierney team loss. I looked into a while ago and something like 70 percent of Tierney's losses are by a goal. Not sure i know what that means but it should mean something.

How much would it cost to lure lacrosse alumnus Jon Cooper away from the Tampa Bay Lightning?

haha, perhaps we catch him on an emotional low after the great US of A took down ye ol Canada in their national sport!

If HU ever decided to go in on elevating to a D1 hockey program, he'd certainly be an unbelievable guy to lead it! Should only take a few mil :D

Rutgers 11 Hofstra 8. Kids played hard but not enough. Hofstra is now a very disappointing 1-4.
