We open against Florida State Nov 20 in the first round of the Paradise Jam. Looks like OOC schedule will be tougher this year.

It HAS to be - understand the game plan last year, but that won't cut it again this season - gotta step it up.

Jon Rothstein @JonRothstein
La Salle will host Hofstra on Wednesday 12/2/15 at the GOLA, source told @CBSSports. Return game of home-and-home series.

Not news since we know we have the return game, but at least now there's a date.

We already knew Siena would be on the schedule, but Rothstein confirms that it's a home and home series starting in Albany this season.

I like the Siena series, esp if Manhattan or Iona won't schedule
Maybe Fordham now that TP is gone...

Jon Rothstein @JonRothstein
St. John's will face St. Francis NY + Hofstra will play Appalachian St. in Holiday Festival at MSG on 12/6, source told @CBSSports. #sjubb

I assume this is the return game from playing in NC last year.

I love this. We win and we get a crack at St Johns again.

Stu, I hope I'm wrong, but I believe the holiday festival changed the format and it is no longer a tournament. Just a 1 day doubleheader. Wish they would change it back.

Dooku you are correct, there will be no St. John's game for us in the Garden...sorry Stu.

Well that sucks. Now we should get a tournament at the new nassau coliseum. 8 local schools and a three day venue. It would be a home run. The holiday tournament at the garden is a shell of what it used to be.

cool that it's msg - kind of meaningless that it's against App St. and not in a tourney format
return game, so nothing they can do there, knew this game would be on the schedule - guess we'll have to take the one cool part of it being at the garden

Unfortunately it is on an NFL Sunday with a Jets-Giants game that day so attendance will be next to nothing.

The Jets-Giants game is at 1:00, so if they waited long enough both NCAA games could be played after it ended. If the Jets and Giants sell out all their games, wouldn't playing on the same day as Jets-Giants be better than playing on a day where the Jets or Giants played at 1:00 and the other at 4:05? If the NCAA games are at 5:00 and 7:30 (I'm assuming St. John's will play last), the TV ratings (i'm assuming the games will be on MSG) won't be hurt by the Giants and Jets fans unless they care about the postgame, and the second game could start late enough for a fan to attend Jets-Giants and St. John's. The NCAA games could even be played at 5:30 and 8:00 or 6:00 and 8:30.

Weird/disappointing that they would get both St.John's and Hofstra in the same place on the same day and not have them go against each other.
Clearly the NY rivalry worked with Stony Brook last year...would've been interesting to continue that even though the Red Storm is the clear better program.

St. John's has had no interest in playing Hofstra for years now. It's still their tournament, as much as it might not me.

According to an App State article, JAM is the one who initiated the game being at MSG instead of Hofstra. Looks like a lot of App St. fans are interesting in going, so hopefully the timing is ok with the Jets/Giants game so we can have a decent fan base there. It would be embarrassing if there are more people from NC there than NY.
The article also calls the game and Hofstra the "crown-jewel" of the non-conference schedule, even though App St. is visiting North Carolina.

great that HU is at the Garden and in the Holiday Festival... just would've like to have a more appropriate opponent - nothing against App St, actually not a bad program, up and coming with good fan support
just doesn't do much for HU to play them, and really not a matchup that makes sense at MSG
If not SJU, which I get from their point of view, HU v Fordham / Manhattan / Iona / Rutgers / Seton Hall / most any decent northeast team would've been great for this
it's all about winning the CAA, however, I do feel this is really a very important scheduling year - this is the year you need to play some teams with some media juice, you need spotlight, you need bigger names to make some noise - playing last yrs cupcake schedule isn't going to cut it this yr - HU needs opportunities for true signature wins - this is the time for HU and these key talented seniors to SHINE

This was a poorly planned doubleheader by MSG to have this on the same day as a Giants Jets game. I would expect a very poor turnout, even for the St Johns game. As much as I would love to see Hofstra play at MSG, I am a Giants season ticket holder and will be at that game instead.
And about St John's.. They have been ducking us ever since we started beating them with regularity. They have nothing to gain by playing us, but as a local rivalry, this game should always be played. All the local teams should play each other in the OOC schedule. Maybe Mullin will not be scared to play us in the future.
