An early rematch vs. UNCW at an earlier-than-usual Saturday gametime:

It'll be interesting to see how attendance is on a Saturday afternoon, especially considering the spring semester still hasn't started, so there aren't that many students on campus. I'm also pretty sure cheer and dance won't even be there, since they're at nationals.

Yep - I'm expecting it to be pretty quiet at the game. Do classes start next week?? With a win tomorrow (?) can we expect a good turnout next Wed and Sat (assuming school is in session).

Not to be overly optomistic, but I would think Wed against Drexel should be a blowout. Without Nation, I think JMU will be an "average"opponent, leading to another win next Saturday. I don't think its a leap to think we should be 16-5 going into the W&M game.

Thats a great idea. Why not free tickets, or 2 for 1,or something like that.

Not counting chickens too early - of course anything can happen in a sports contest. Just saying it's the way things should turn out.............

Better yet with a ticket get a free dog and a soda. Compass group should make up for what Lackmann group did to Hofstras food service.Hand out free snacks at the game. It has been done before.

http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=67975&a=1 will have statistics.
http://portal.stretchinternet.com/hofst ... Type=video will have video.

SNY has CAA games on TV today at 12:00, 4:00, and 8:00.

Edit: Hofstra is starting Nichols, Green, Tanksley, Bernardi, and Kone.
UNC Wilmington is starting Craig Ponder (guard), Jordan Talley (guard), Freddie Jackson (guard), C.J. Gettys (center), and Addison Spruill (forward).

Kone: recorded his 100th block (fifth in Hofstra history to reach that mark) and when the Pride was up 14-13, less than nine minutes in, he had half of Hofstra's points, to already eclipse his season average of 6.7 ppg.

If those seats are otherwise going to be empty, it's a no-brainer. They'd still make money off of those fans at the concessions. If they don't show up at all, guess how much money Hofstra makes? lol

Love the way Nichols is playing today. Very aggressive.

Showing too, with 11 pts, 3-3 fg, an most of all, 5-6 ft. Attacking, very athletic. Tough to deal with when he plays like that. Best I've seen him play yet.

Talley, Spruill and Gettys hurt us in second half... every time we go on a run, they answer with a run.

Can't understand why Nichols (2 PF, 2nd recently) has only played 3 min. with no shots since getting 11 pts on 3-3 fg in first half. Stay with the hot hand a while. He as penetrating and hurting UNCW.

We have also burned all of our timeouts (down 1 with :28.4 left) after doing things like taking a timeout after scoring, up 6, with 5:41 left. (Why???)

Awful. Absolutely unacceptable loss. Green missed several important free throws down the stretch.
Also, what happened with the technical foul on Kone?

He slammed the ball down.

Edit: It was the first time Hofstra had five players (Tanksley with 19, Green with 14, Kone with 14, Nesmith with 11, and Nichols with 11) score in double-digits in a loss since March 6, 2011 in a loss to Old Dominion in the CAA Tournament.

Bad day at the office. They happen but disappointed in Green and Bernardi. They both had sub par games. Bottom line with this team is that when we don't hit our threes we don't look very good. UNCW has played everyone tough and has won at Northeastern. They are better than we give them credit for. But for us to have a five point lead at the half and come out flat and let them score nine straight points at home is unacceptable. We better come out hungry against Drexel on Wed.

Our next two games are must-wins (Drexel and JMU at home), if we want to remain a contender for the number 1 seed. Hopefully things will be better once students are back. Classes start the 26th, so there might be a few students for the game on the 24th.

One little bright note today, the cheer team is back to being national champions. They came in second place last year. https://twitter.com/UCAupdates/status/5 ... 7065335808
