Hofstra womens lax 2021

Post by stuball888 »

So after a promising start Hofstra has a rude awakening with an 18-7 loss to Albany Like I had said in a previous post this team needs to find other options than Parella Teams will double team her and if no other scoring threat opens up this team will struggle offense is up in both mens and women’s games you need to score about 15 per game in the womens game to win You will not many 8-6 games Yes SBU beat Towson 10-8 but that is not the norm

Jojo that poll will change sometime this week. Crazy we beat UConn and UConn beat Albany. I expected a tough game but not a blowout. Lets see how this team rebounds in its next game. Want to see how they play against SBU who had a close win over Towson 10-8.

Congrats to Hofstra and Alyssa Parrella on their 12-9 win over Villanova. Alyssa with 10 goals set a Hofstra record for goals in a game. Now lets see what the next couple of games brings. They play nationally ranked BC and SBU the next two games before conference play starts.

Bumped to the top Well its the battle of Long Island for womens lax. Even though we are much better than three years ago Im afraId we are no match for SBU. We lost to Albany 18-7 and SBU beat them 18-11. Good teams like Albany and Boston College knew how to shut down Parrella and keep the Hofstra offense in check. This is what happens when you have really only one scoring option. If I had to predict the score should be somewhere around 18-6. I dont see coach Spallina easing up until the middle of the 4th quarter

This has potential to get very ugly unfortunately. Will be happy if we are within 4-5 goals at halftime.

Was pleasantly surprised how they competed in a 12-8 loss that easily could have been much closer if not for some unforced turnovers and SBU goalie making 12 saves. Trailed 7-1 and then scored six of the next 8 goals to make it 9-7 with 10 mins left and nearly got within one after that. Hopefully they can build off of this effort when they start CAA schedule against tough Drexel team next weekend.

Agreed they actually outshot SBu. This was the teams best game of the year even though they lost If they play like this in conference they have a shot at the top spots. Drexel Towson and JMU are the best teams in the CAA. Dont know if we are there yet.

Monster season-saving win at Towson today that keeps our NCAA tourney at-large hopes very much alive.

Bumped to the top after another very impressive Hofstra wlax win that puts them in strong position for an at-large bid. We will likely have to face Towson a third straight game in 4-5 matchup in CAA tourney, but even if we lose there would still be on bubble for NCAA bid because of high RPI and SOS.

This game will not be a repeat of our earlier win JMU was missing some players and if not mistaken wasnt counted as a conference game Expect a tight game

Tonight should be far different from first meeting, but win-or-lose tonight Hofstra is in excellent shape to gt an at-large bid with an 8th-ranked RPI and 10th-ranked SOS. The latest U.S. Lacrosse Magazine bracketology has us safely in the field and not even one of the last four in https://www.uslaxmagazine.com/college/w ... ed-chances

So with the 14-7 loss to JMU I believe the womens lax season is over Even with a high RPI and SOS our record was 6-6 A mid major does not get in with that record If the CAA gets two bids it will be JMU and Drexel Maybe next year is our year if Parrella comes back We still need more scoring options to play with the better teams 7 or 8 goals does not get it done in womens lax is not going to get it done

Sorry Stu but you are way off base with this one. .500 is not a requirement period to make NCAAs this season and with a strong RPI, SOS and having three top RPI 20 wins I am 99% sure Hofstra receives an at-large bid tomorrow. Also Parrella is a 5th-year senior so 2021 is it for her.

There are a total of 29 slots and think 12 are auto bids so I think 17 at large bids The Acc takes up 4 so its the next 13 best teams

29 versus usual 26 this year plus no Ivy League, which usually grabs 2 or 3 so for multiple factors Hofstra will most likely be getting an at-large tomorrow. Even Penn State at 4-9 is considered on the bubble at 4-9 since they beat Maryland twice. Towson is one of the last four in for latest bracketology and we beat them twice.

Definitely not! If Drexel has lost today then they would have been on bubble though.
