This will be our first MBB game vs. the Elon Phoenix, who face W&M tonight.

1 game at a time - CofC first

But I'm very interested in this matchup for HU - Elon quietly becoming a bit of surprise/sleeper team - better than expected... excited for HU to face the road challenge

but first things first.

Agree, this is shaping up to be a real test for us...on the road played a tough game at Charleston, five hour bus ride, never played there before. On the other hand hopefully Elon will be resting on their laurels after defeating WMU...should be a tough tight contest, hope we come out of the box stronger, keep it close and win with some big plays at the end. It's on SNY so no worries about lousy feeds although Charleston's was certainly better the UNCW's.

This was how Elon got students to go to their game again W&M. https://twitter.com/elonphoenix/status/ ... 3110796288

I'd like to see Hofstra/JAM do that once students are back for Spring semester, especially for the two televised games in February.

Looking at their roster and schedule, I like how HU matches up - they're a smaller team in the post as well, best player down low at 6'7, and I don't think they have anyone who can match up with the physical play of Kone, Gustys, or even the D of Walker - hope those guys go OFF

they have a very solid guard core, and good size 6'3-6'4 - 3 guards that can play and put up points

they've been prone to the TO throughout the year, and HU should look to play tight D, force them, and then make them pay - relax too much and let them get comfy and they have the ability to score

they don't typically distribute well from what I see in the Assist area - means to me if they can eliminate 1-2 of their scoring threats, that would bode well - keep them to the 50's/low 60's and HU could attack and run them wild

I think this is a GREAT opp for the HU bigs to play BIG and have impact games -believe HU can rebound the heck out of the ball in this game - if they do, that will open up the guard play and it's off to the races

Interesting this is a Sat night game, good stuff - great timing for me to watch, very glad it's on TV! FINISH this stretch STRONG!

http://www.gohofstra.com/documents/2014 ... testwo.pdf is the Game Notes for our trip to North Carolina State in November. At that time, tomorrow's game at Elon was supposed to be on SNY. http://www.gohofstra.com/schedule.aspx?path=mbball is our 2014-2015 schedule and now that game is not on TV. That means our first 22 games will not be on TV, and I doubt that are many Division I schools who can say that. By "TV" I include national and regional channels but exclude internet streams such as ESPN3. Hofstra links to http://www.gohofstra.com/documents/2015 ... 4_0110.pdf which says tomorrow's game is on many channels around the country, but not here. It is on TV in Albany, Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester along with many other places in the eastern half of the country and a couple as far west as Salt Lake City and Boise. The game is on TV delayed Sunday at 5:00 P.M. in parts of California including San Diego. That site says the game will be online on CAA.TV joined in progress at 8:30 P.M. Hopefully that doesn't mean it will be impossible to watch the beginning of the game in this area. http://web.sny.tv/schedule/index.jsp?ymd=20150110 has tomorrow's SNY schedule including an Atlantic 10 game at 7:00 P.M. I used to look at the sizes of radio markets and the game is on TV in at least 40 of the Top 100 radio markets. What will happen tomorrow is a smaller scale equivalent of Fox showing the Giants on many affiliates but not ours (WNYW) or CBS showing the Jets on many affiliates but not WCBS-TV.

The 7:00 game tomorrow night on SNY is Fordham. SNY and Fordham I know have a deal of some sort.

DirecTV has the Elon game on Ch. 665-1 at 8p.m. and Ch. 642-1 at 8:30. They're alternate channels for Region Sports Network:

So some people in the area can get it, but according to Google Maps I live 7 miles away from the Mack Sports Complex (if you ignore roads and draw a straight line it would be close to 6 miles), and ideally I shouldn't need a satellite dish (which I don't have) to get the game, just like when Cablevision didn't offer the YES Network when it was created you needed a satellite dish to watch the Yankees.

The Hofstra schedule originally had the game listed as on SNY. Now it's not. Bummer. Will need to rely on the Elon feed.

No.

Edit: ESPN has Hofstra favored by 5 with an over/under of 141. This yields a predicted score of 73-68. When the difference (line) and sum (over/under) of two numbers are given, 73-68 can be determined by solving the system of linear equations x - y = 5 and x + y = 141. Adding the equations makes 2x = 146 with the y terms dropping out. Then x = 73 and since 73 - y = 5 then y = 68.

Edit: The CAA has only 2 day games (5:00 P.M. or earlier) today which is the fewest of the nine weekends this season. 29 out of 45 (64.4%) CAA weekend games this season have been or will be day games.

Hofstra is starting Nichols, Green, Tanksley, Bernardi, and Kone. Elon is starting Tanner Samson (guard), Austin Hamilton (guard), Kevin Blake (guard), Tony Sabato (center), and Ryan Winters (forward).

http://portal.stretchinternet.com/elon/ ... Type=video gives me a message to look for the American Sports Network on TV. As of now I can't watch a game on TV or online that a person in Boise can watch on TV.

Edit: http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=67961 has statistics.

Yet another game with a slow start, bad shooting, and horrible refs.

Elon leads 11-10. Tanksley and Bernardi have combined to miss all 7 of their shots.

Edit: Green has 9 points, Tanksley has 7, and Bernardi has 5. Hofstra leads 25-15. Gonzalez is now playing.

Edit: Nesmith has 5 and Bernardi hasn't scored. I typed the wrong name before. Hofstra leads 31-18.
