HU should play to dominate and take this game by 20+. Looking for an impactful return of the Rokas!

The Sagarin and its components provide four values, which expect Hofstra to win by 13.06, 16.42, 17.84, and 19.27 after adjusting for home court. Hofstra is 103 spots better in the Sagarin than in the RPI.

This could be a trap game for us. We should come out strong and put this game away early. However I don't see that happening. I see aright game for a half then wepull away in the second. Should be a 20 point road win.

I think the return of Rokas will prevent this from being any type of overlooked game - this is important from that standpoint, and I think the players will be excited to play with him again

Stu CCSU is one of the poorest teams we play. I'll say we win be more than 20 running away. Would be very surprised if it's competitive at all.

I think Sagarin is much more indicative of where we stand. It has predicted most games pretty accurately except for the LaSalle game.

http://ccsubluedevils.com/sports/mbkb/2 ... 1_mye8.xml is supposed to have statistics but hasn't started yet.

Hofstra is starting Mailk Nichols, Juan'ya Green, Ameen Tanksley, Brian Bernardi, and Moussa Kone.

Central Connecticut State is starting Kevin Seymour (guard), Greg Andrade (guard), Matt Mobley (guard), Faronte Drakeford (forward), and Brandon Peel (forward) (positions are from ESPN).

Edit: Coach just said Gustys will not play. He is practicing.

Edit: While giving the lineups, a Central Connecticut State announcer said Brandon Bernardi and pronounced a name like Cone as in former Yankee David Cone instead of Ko-nay.

Edit: Now the announcer pronounced a name Kon-yay. The Central Connecticut State page has audio but no video, so I will use Hofstra's announcers.

Edit: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=400591737 has statistics. Hofstra leads 8-3.

Edit: Hofstra has led by as much as 8 and now leads 18-13 with four three-pointers made. Drakeford leads all players with 10 points. The statistics and video from Central Connecticut State now work. They might have worked at the beginning of the game. I might have had a problem with my computer.

I'll answer my own question: yes, there is free streaming video. Thank you, CCSU.

Hofstra leads 32-16. Hofstra has 6 three-pointers made and is on pace for 19 three-pointers made (the school record is 15) and 101 points.

Edit: Hofstra went up 34-16 and now leads 36-20. Hofstra's scoring pace is down to 89. Nesmith leads all scorers with 11. Central Connecticut State committed at least 3 offensive fouls in the first 10 minutes. Central Connecticut State has gotten too many offensive rebounds.

Edit: Hofstra went up 25 at 47-22 before Central Connecticut State made their first three-pointer at the halftime buzzer to make at 47-25. Nesmith has 11 points, Tanksley has 9, Green has 8, and Bernardi has 8. Robinson has 5, giving Hofstra five players on pace to reach double-digits.

Edit: Hofstra did not make a free throw in the first half. They had 1 attempt which was missed by Green. I have no way of looking this up, but I wonder how rare it is to have a half with 9 three-pointers and no free throws.

We took care of business as expected. Pleased that Kone got some solid minutes and scored 12, Gonzalez looked good as well. Disappointed that Rokas did not get to play...hope he's ok...maybe JAM figured he did not need him as he warmed up.

final 84-56. Boring game. CCSU had little talent and little depth (I think they suited 7 players).

Don't see this as any kind of warm-up for UNCW - this was basically a cakewalk against an inferior team.

Good to see Kone moving around more and playing more minutes. Although he was scoring its hard to say how well he played because of the level of the competition. Walker did not play many minutes and Gustys sat out.

We ssem to get away with our small lineup and 3-poing shooting qualifications. Still wonder how we will manage against a team that throws a few true bigs at us. Time will tell.

Hofstra lost their lead in three-point field goal percentage by making 10 out of 27 and only 1 made in the second half. Hofstra led by as much as 32 and won 84-56. Hofstra made their last four free throws to make more than half, 8 out of 15. Faronte Drakeford with 20 points and Matt Mobley with 16 points and Central Connecticut State's only two three-pointers gave Central Connecticut State two of the game's highest three scorers. Green, who scored 19, and Tanksley, who scored 15 led Hofstra is scoring but made only 3 out of 14 three-pointers combined. Kone scored 12, had 5 rebounds, and didn't miss a shot. Bernardi and Nesmith scored 11 each. Nesmith had most of his points early. Tanksley led Hofstra with 7 rebounds. Green and Nichols has 6 rebounds each. Green had 5 assists and some other players had 1 or 2. Hofstra had a great assist/turnover ration of 17/10 = 1.7. Andre Walker had Hofstra's only blocked shot but didn't attempt a shot. Hofstra made 65.7% of their two-pointers.

Starting to think Walker is in the JAM dog-house. 6 minutes in a blowout win (its his 3rd game in a row that he played 6 or less minutes) - he started the year off playing 15-20 minutes in the first 6 games or so - said it before - but I just don't get it.

Went exactly as I felt it should, dominating - not much of a tuneup but HU did what they should have

Quite unhappy Rokas didn't get to play - whats up with that?? If he's still not ready that's concerning to me - i know there are things unseen but he looked completely fine on the bench during LIU
