Despite its record (7-9, 0-5), North Carolina A&T is not an easy out. Head coach Monté Ross, who led Delaware for 10 seasons, makes sure the Aggies battle to the end. Among our common CAA opponents, NC A&T lost at Stony Brook by one point and to Elon by five.

R-FR Lewis Walker (18 ppg), ranks fifth in the CAA in scoring. Against William & Mary, he set a school record for freshman with 33 points.

R-JR Lureon Walker (17 ppg), Lewis' older brother, is a close second in scoring. Back in November, they each put up 25 points in the Aggies' win over Washington Adventist.

FloCollege and WRHU (88.7 FM) will carry our game.

For Stu's other thread about nickname changes, I'd like to submit the Washington Adventist Dentists.

This is a MUST-win. After starting 4-0 and falling into a three-way tie for second with two straight losses, they cannot - even on the road - lose to the only team that's currently winless in conference play. I would never normally say Game 7 of 18 is a must-win, but this is the ultimate TCB game now, especially since the one on the trip to follow at W&M figures to be winnable but very challenging, followed by a visit from Charleston to close out the first half of CAA play. Biggie or no Biggie, Plotnikov or not Plotnikov, don't mess around in this one and just get it done, no excuses, get to 5-2, and go from there.

So this game tomorrow has gone from arguably Hofstra's least important game all season to a legitimate MUST win now. Use what the Knicks did to the Nets tonight as motivation, get right on the court against an inferior team and don't let the bad habits linger.

Lose this game and we're staring 4-4 in the face with W&M on saturday

I had been thinking the same thing about this game ever since the Knicks trailed Dallas by 28 at halftime on Monday. I didn't expect the Knicks to have a chance to double the Nets  (up 120-61 before winning 120-66) in the final minute but I definitely noticed the timing of the two games on consecutive nights this week and was thinking the two games were the "get-right" games for the Knicks and Hofstra, respectively. It'll be considerably more challenging for Hofstra to win at NC A&T than it was for the Knicks to beat the Nets at home, but the way the Knicks used tonight as a reset before it gets serious against "real" competition again, Hofstra similarly has a chance to reset and get back on track after two losses before it gets a lot tougher again.

No disrespect to NC A&T, which will surprise a few teams at some point, but this is almost like when they lose against tough OOC competition and come home to play Molloy or Old Westbury, just to get a comfortable win and gain confidence again before much tougher challenges linger. That's not to say NC A&T is like a D-II or D-III team at all, but there's a reason ESPN gives Hofstra a 78.7% chance to win on the road. There aren't many chances to coast in the CAA with at least a 15-20-point win. This should be one of those if they show up as they should. And there is a monumental difference between 5-2 or 4-3. But even that's not enough. They can't win this game 72-68 to forget about the last two games. Come out like the first half at Drexel, and make the second half like that too.

Wondering who will be available to play in this game. Will Biggie be back? Is Plotnikov out? Two very important pieces could be missing.

Yes, and they'll need them both going forward. Having at minimum, one available on Saturday at W&M is important for them. But as I said above, with this game, after two losses, even if they're both out, they have more than enough. TCB against the only winless team in CAA play. No excuses, win comfortably, as they should (shorthanded or not) and then hope both of those guys are back ASAP. And if both are out tonight, maybe that's a chance for others to step up a little more and gain some confidence.

Plotnikov is in street clothes. We missed our first five threes, and then made 4 in 1:27, including 2 by Roberts, who will play more without Plotnikov. We went from down 12-9 to up 25-19. Davis has 12 points, and Lewis Walker has 9.

Edit: We went up 8, and we lead 31-25 and have the ball. We committe our sixth foul with 10:19 left, meaning that we cannot commit any more defensive fouls without free throws. The good thing is that our six fouls are on six players. NC A&T is up to five fouls. Sunday's 2 points are our only points not by Davis, Edmead, or Roberts.

Well obviously some unconscious outside shooting that half. When you see what Roberts can do when he gets going its just laughable how this kid can fall out of the rotation. And aggressive Cruz from the jump finally

But im gonna focus on our defense though... its pathetic. If they don't pick up the intensity on that end W&M will drop 100 on us Saturday. I'm not kidding. And if the outside shooting regresses to the mean in the 2nd half this game is far from over with how poorly we're defending

We led by 16, and we lead 53-40 at halftime. I wonder if this is the first time that we ever had three players with at least 14 points at halftime. The other eleven CAA teams combined to have five players with at least 14 points. Davis scored 20 by shooting 8-12, and tied for the most assists with 4. Roberts scored 17 including making 5 of 6 threes. Edmead had 14 points, tied for the most rebounds with 4, and tied for the most assists with 4. The rest of the team shot 1-10. Patterson shot 0-3 and had 2 fouls and no positive statistics in 10 minutes. We shot threes 10-17. Towson leads Elon 29-22, so our threes produced enough points to outscore a CAA team that is up 7. Lewis Walker led NC A&T with 14.

Campbell leads Charleston 35-34. Hampton leads Monmouth 34-30. Stony Brook leads Northeastern 47-40. William & Mary has the largest lead by a CAA team, which is 42-28 hosting UNCW.

Awful body language. Showing a lot of immaturity across the board
