Drexel has a tough week before hosting us on Jan. 3. The Dragons have to travel in the snow down to Charleston for a Monday night game (12/29) and stay down South for a New Year's Eve game against UNCW.

In their OCC schedule, the 6-7 Dragons lost to three teams that we beat: Syracuse (50-80), Penn (68-84) and La Salle (64-69). The did manage to edge ODU, but the Monarchs are only 4-7.

Drexel has five scorers averaging between 9 and 13 ppg.

Our game will be on FloCollege and WRHU (HAWC).

https://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2026/rpi-live says that we are a really good 37th in the RPI, so it's too bad that the NCAA made the NET. Our RPI is better than 16 of 37 teams that Joe Lunardi gives at-large bids to. Our RPI is better than 13 of 16 SEC teams. That includes Florida, who Warren Nolan predicts to win the SEC, albeit he predicts us to fall from 37th to 67th, and Florida to rise from 44th to 18th. If they made odds for everything, I think that we would have been given under a 1 percent chance to have a better RPI than Florida at the end of 2025, and maybe even under 0.1 percent. Betting $10 at those adds would have paid thousands.

KenPom says that we have the highest percentage of our defensive rebounds and third highest percentage of our offensive rebounds by centers. We get 56 percent of our offensive rebounds by centers. They define a team as having a center, power forward, small forward, point guard, and shooting guard on the court at all times, and the same player can have different positions depending on who else is playing. Because of Davis, we have the seventh highest percent of points from our shooting guard, and our percent of points from the other four positions are in the bottom half. Because of Edmead, our percent of points from our point guard ranks 185th, and the median is 183rd.

https://gohofstra.com/news/2026/1/1/men ... rexel.aspx is our preview titled "Pride Rides Five-Game Win Streak Into CAA Road Matchup At Drexel."

https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/side ... game15.pdf is our Game Notes.

Drexel did not write a preview yet.

In KenPom, we are 106th in offense, and 106th in defense. Texas Southern and us are the only teams with the same ranks in both. Last season our defense was 232 spots better than our offense, which was the seventh most spots between offense and defense (including either one being better) out of 364 teams. Our defense is a little worse than our ranking of 94th last season, but our offense is 220 spots better.

https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=611421 will have statistics.

KenPom expects us to win 74-66 with a 77 percent chance of winning, so that is higher than ESPN's 70.7 percent chance, which came before Drexel's 65-53 loss at UNCW yesterday.

Here is the rest of the CAA schedule:

Saturday:

Northeastern at Campbell at 12:00 P.M. on CBS Sports Network
KenPom expects Campbell to win 80-79 with a 56 percent chance of winning, so CBS Sports Network could start their six consecutive games with a close game.

North Carolina A&T at Stony Brook at 4:00 P.M. on SNY
KenPom expects Stony Brook to win 75-69 with a 72 percent chance of winning.

Monmouth at Towson at 6:00 P.M. on Monumental Sports Network
KenPom expects Towson to win 71-63 with a 76 percent chance of winning.

Hampton at UNCW at 7:00 P.M.
KenPom expects UNCW to win 76-65 with an 84 percent chance of winning.

If you have a way of getting regional sports networks from different markets, you can watch a quadrupleheader without Flo.

Monday:
William & Mary at Charleston at 7:00 P.M. on CBS Sports Network
KenPom expects William & Mary to win 81-79 with a 59 percent chance of winning.

KenPom's expectations can change slightly because of other games affecting teams' strength of schedule.

Elon has off. After Monday, 15.4 percent of CAA games will be played.

We are 6.5 point favorites.
I was just reading the Drexel BB. Their fans are done with Spiker and want him fired after this season.
I plan on attending tomorrow. This should be fun as I'm sitting with a long time Drexel season ticket holder.

https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=611421 will have statistics.

https://www.flohoops.com/live/214469 will have video.

Campbell leads 49-36 at halftime hosting Northeastern. Campbell used 6 players, and Northeastern used 11. Campbell's D.J. Smith leads all players with 17 points. Campbell's Cam Gregory has no points and 1 shot in 18 minutes, but he leads all players with 3 assists. Ty Francis leads Northeastern with 15 points and leads all players with 6 rebounds. Campbell scored 49 with only 2 threes made. Northeastern committed 6 more turnovers and 4 more fouls. Campbell had more points off turnovers 19 to 3, so Northeastern had more points not off turnovers 33 to 30.

We started Edmead, DeCady, Davis, Plotnikov, and Onuetu. Onuetu missed by the basket, blocked a shot 21 seconds later, and left with an injured leg. We do not have much forward depth, and I wonder how Alex Tsynkevich would do with significant playing time if Onuetu is out. Drexel started Kevon Vanderhorst (guard), Eli Beard (guard), Victor Panov (forward), Shane Blakeney (guard), and Martin de Laporterie (forward).

We lead 23-12.

Campbell defeated Northeastern 97-82. Campbell's D.J. Smith scored 31. All six of Campbell's players scored at least 9. I wonder when the last time a team scored at least 97 points and used 6 or fewer players was. Campbell's Dovydas Butka had 15 points and 14 rebounds. Northeastern's Mike Loughnane shot 10-15 and led his team with 23 points. Campbell attempted 31 free throws, and Northeastern attempted 12.

Victory already back in, has a little wrap on his lower leg wonder if it was a cut.

Unfortunately Biggie (who was off to a real nice start today) also hurt, his looked a little more serious. Banged knees with Roberts under the basket on some fluky friendly fire, but Biggie couldnt put much weight on his leg and went right back to the locker room. We'll have to see if he returns to bench even at any point

We lead 29-19. Onuetu returned, so he isn't injured, but right after that Roberts and Patterson collided. Patterson could not put weight on one leg, and he went to the locker room. Roberts stayed in. Edmead made 3 threes and leads all players with 9 points.

Just saw Biggie walk back to the bench in full uniform at the 6 min mark. Hopefully was just bad banged knees and dodged another bullet. But he was still limping some it appeared. Looks like hes riding the bike behind the bench now

Great half. Cruz was swishing and dishing entire half. Edmead started hot as well. Drexel just not in our zip code with talent so far. A few sloppy minutes, but Speedy called a needed TO and finished strong.

Great first half despite the injuries. The FLO feed is horrendous, keeps spinning, missing half the game!
Anyone else having that problem?
The one thing FLO does well is make sure the commercials run perfectly!

Biggie back in the game!

Dont think Hofstra even playing particularly well and still blowing Drexel out at the half. Some good outside shooting and couple nice pick and roll dimes from Cruz.

Let's not take the foot off the gas today and get some of these guys out before anyone else gets banged up

No issues with Flo for me shockingly

No issues with Flo - except camera view is always too far from the court.

We led by 16, it got down to 11, and we lead 40-25 at halftime. Patterson returned, so none of our players stayed injured. However, he missed the first of a one-and-one despite entering with an .839 free throw percentage. Davis was the only double-digit scorer on either team with 11, tied for the most rebounds on either team with 4, and tied for the most assists on either team with 3. Edmead scored 9, but his last points were with 13:12 left. He tied Davis with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. He entered averaging 1.7 rebounds with a career-high of 6, so he could beat that. Sunday scored 6 without missing, and tied Davis and Edmead with 4 rebounds. Patterson had 5 points and 3 rebounds in 6 minutes. Onuetu scored 4, but he committed 2 fouls in 7 minutes. Plotnikov scored 3. Roberts made his only shot to score 2. DeCady was second with 18 minutes, but he shot 0-4.

Shane Blakeney scored 9, and he was Drexel's only player with more than 4. Two players tied for Drexel's lead with 3 rebounds. Drexel had only 2 assists, which were both by Eli Beard.

There were hardly any turnovers, as we committed 2, and Drexel committed 1. I wonder when the previous time we scored at least 40 in a half without any points off turnovers was. We shot .517, and shot threes 6-12. Drexel shot 9-32, and shot free throws 5-11.

Last year 37-26 Hofstra at the half and we lost. Hopefully Speedy hammered that home!

Lighting the season on fire right now. All the good vibes completely out the window if they blow this game. Beyond unacceptable.

And Biggie hurt again

We had 4 points in the first 8 minutes of the half, and our lead went down to 44-42. We improved, and we lead 57-48 with Plotnikov shooting a one-and-one after a timeout with 7:18 left. Davis and Edmead are tied with 16 points. Wills came in and made a three.
