Well, it's back to reality on Friday when we travel to central PA to take on Bucknell.
The Bisons were 18-15 last year and finished first in the Patriot League, but lost in the conference semifinals to Navy. So far this season, Bucknell has defeated Delaware and Mount St. Mary's, and will face Princeton tomorrow.
Here's a link to Bucknell's preseason preview:

(BTW, did we ever post a season preview for this year?)
The game will be on ESPN+ and WRHU (HAWC).

What an awesome season preview for them. Where's our version of this? Really gives a lot of legitimacy to the program, its culture, and its players! Speaks to a well thought out system and approach. I hope we're taking notes on our comms/marketing/leadership side.
These guys look pretty good through their first 3 games too. Always a winning program, their 6'10'' true freshman German center is their leading scorer and #2 rebounder through three games and they have a bunch of size to go along with him.
Looking forward to the game, but not super optimistic.

That's a nice preview, but I will say I have been impressed with the social media stuff they have done this year, which has a better reach (theoretically) than an Adobe webpage.

It's going to be difficult for us to defeat Bucknell. Even though the Bisons lost to Princeton last night, they are a disciplined team with a lot of scoring options:

I think this game will be a good barometer of Speedy's ability to coach up and win with a team that, frankly, does not shoot very well, overall. Please do not force what is not there. How about running the oldest play in basketball, the pick and roll, from time to time? We have some playmakers, some good athletes. Play to their strengths. I can't take watching us go 7 for 25 from three. And I'd love to see us be more aggressive on the defensive side. Play full court D, at least some time, before the game goes sideways.

I was thinking the same thing Joeg. The footage of Victory showed him to be very adept at the pick and roll.
Maybe a 3 point specialist can emerge from the as of yet untapped guards on the bench.

Looking at pictures of Trey Boyd wearing sweat pants leads me to believe he’s injured. Maybe why we haven’t seen him yet.

Noticed that at Iona. Boyd was hanging out at mid court just dribbling and wearing same warmup gear as Carlos Lopez, who we know is out for the year. My guess is that Boyd is either hurt or reshirting. Who knows

We’re favored by 2.5 points in this game on the road?

I've never seen a team favored to win spread wise yet having a lower percentage chance to win than the opponent as much as Hofstra in recent years.
Favored by 1.5 yet had a 37% chance to win (which was about right, in retrospect) at Iona.
-2.5 yet a 46.7% chance to win tonight.
After this one, Bucknell plays at Pittsburgh on Monday night, so it'll be kind of interesting to see how that one goes for the Bison right after playing Hofstra, before Hofstra plays at Pittsburgh on 12/7.

Three other CAA teams play today, and they all play winless teams. Charleston hosts South Carolina State, Towson hosts Norfolk State, and Hampton is at Brown.

Hofstra is somehow 103 spots better in kenpom than Bucknell (155 vs 258) despite them having 2 D1 wins to our 0. Only reason we're favored

Early in the season KenPom includes its preseason expectations.
We are starting Patterson, Edmead, Plotnikov, Davis, and Onuetu. Bucknell is starting Brandon McCreesh, Jayden Williams, Amon Dörries, Achile Spadone, and Ruot Bijiek.

Honest question... is this team good at anything?
Cant shoot. Undisciplined defensively. Mediocre on the boards. Foul like crazy. Sloppy with the ball. Poorly coached.
They try hard, but this is starting to look like a really lousy basketball team. Again

Certainly looks like we lack scoring ability. Silas still has butterfingers.

With tough D on Cruz, Preston has really stepped up on offense in second half. V is also much better this half.

Up 10 with 4:00 left. Good second half for most of the guys. Edmead with 23.

Win by 6. Solid second half effort!
