Our 2025-26 season starts this coming Monday at the University of Central Florida, led by Duke legend Johnny Dawkins, a former national player of the year.

I understand UCF has only one (!) player returning from last year. Talk about rebuilding!

Game will be on ESPN+ and WRHU (88.7). I can't get the WRHU app to work on my iPhone. Anyone else having that problem?

UCF is now in the Big xII that's a surprise! They look big and although there is only one player returning they are like every other teanm in D 1...loaded with transfers.

We only know slightly more about Hofstra's team than we do UCF. No idea what to expect, but happy to have what feels like the longest offseason in sports come to a close!

This UCF team has only two players under 6'4. They look like a bunch of amazons with plenty of kids 6'8 and taller. I wonder how we're going to rebound in this game?

So for s.. and giggles took a peek at ESPN's prediction on this game and they're giving us a 8.7% chance of winning this game. Tough to come up with anything meaningful I would think just based on rosters this analytic.

It would have been good to have our opponent's roster in Hofstra's game notes. It has 31 pages of other info, though.

I see that UCF is now in the Big 12 Conference, which has 16 teams. Shouldn't they change the name to the Big 16 Conference?

UCF is an 11.5 point favorite.

Based on Speedy's interview with Kevin Dexter he said that at this point in the season he just wants to see the team play hard and hopefully be competitive. Obviously he wants to win but isn't expecting to win some of these games.

Almost every team is in the same position
They rebuild or reload every year
Now it's time to see how fast teams can gel
Obviously, UCF in a power, five conference has the advantage of having bigger and more skilled players
At this time of the year, it's not so much who has the better team, but which team plays better
What speedy wants to see or his players doing what they're supposed to do and not making mental errors
At this point, I can accept physical errors, but not mental errors on the court

Line now 10.5 pts according to ESPN. Thought I read somewhere where UCF has ZERO players retrning. One of five schools in the same boat

Does anyone know what time the game is now expected to start?

Game now at 8:50EST.

Line opened up at -11.5 and it’s moved down to -8.5 so Hofstra is getting the money
