JWF in the NBA Bubble

Post by Jojogunne »

It looks like Justin is on the Utah Jazz roster for the new summer league. Does anyone know for sure? The Jazz are on ESPN today at 3:30 p.m.:

Saw Justin on the bench today. Hope he gets into a game soon. In the meanwhile, at least he's getting an NBA paycheck.

Yes this is great for Justin and if it wasn't for the talent of the guards on this team and their overall talent he would be playing. It just seems to me without knowing too much about the quality of the other NBA teams that he would be showcasing his talents for another team. Of course that's just my opinion.

He made his NBA debut just before pandemic and would be nice to see him get his first NBA regular season points before season ends.

He's such an offensive talent that he can't be stopped one on one and it's exciting and fun to watch him play.

There is no G league so I think most of the top guys in the league are up with the big club.
He was playing down the stretch in preseason games. Here's a link to a nice shot he made:

Does that mean Justin is making a prorated $815,615 this summer? If so, wow!

Deserves everything that comes his way he's worked hard to earn it. I have no use for the NBA and all the politics but would watch Jazz games just to see him play.

If you don't like the NBA's politics, wait until you learn how the NCAA and men's college hoops really operates. :)

This summer has eight regular season games. 8/82nds of $815,615 is $79,572.20. I don't remember the amount, but I thought his contract would have paid him about that much if he spent the whole season in the G-League, and he would have gotten paid a prorated portion of the NBA minimum for other games he was on the roster for. Combining NBA and G-League salary, I think he made over $150,000. It would be nice if there was a site that said how much players made every season with parts in the top level and parts in the minors. It would apply to a lot of baseball players. His 19 career points are 4.66 percent of Jenkins' 408. Norman Richardson scored 30.

I don't know how much players get paid in the playoffs. Utah will face the other Rocky Mountain team, Denver, in the playoffs starting on Monday at 1:30 P.M. on ESPN. Game 2 will be Wednesday at 4:00 P.M. on TNT, Game 3 will be Friday August 21 at 4:00 P.M. on TNT, Game 4 will be Sunday August 23 at 9:00 P.M. on TNT, and the start times for Games 5 through 7 if necessary depend on how many games there will be those days. It's nice that all the teams are in Orlando because the games would start late if they were all in the Mountain Time Zone in Denver or Utah. Denver is the 3 and Utah is the 6.

Mike Conley leaving the bubble for the birth of his son. WIll miss first-round playoff Games 1 and 2 and possibly the whole series against the Nuggets.

Could have a trickle-down effect to open some playoff minutes for JWF.

I think JWF is showing he can hang at that level - really pulling for him man, would be incredible cred for HU to have an active well-playing NBA guard with enough min and stats to notice. W/out the NCAAT appearance, that would really help make up for the recruiting boost!

I was wondering when I posted above if they may have had to trim the earlier bubble roster for the postseason. I think that may be the case because JWF is listed as not being with the Jazz for Game 1:

Seems to be bubble protocol related.
