Looks like Justin will soon have a chance to prove that he belongs in the NBA:

I think he went 3 for 14 but clearly didn't embarrass himself IMO. He had a few assists and I think he played far better D then offense. He drew at least two charges. Considering the number of airballs that were getting thrown up he didn't shoot any bricks. He had good moves to the basket and showed his quickness. On the flip side Brantley played well and scored in double figures. Its just the first game and I think he's going to thrive on this team.

I hope they give him a chance to play the off guard...he is not a PG...I think he had some nerves and appeared to rush some shots but clearly he is athletice enough to play in this setting...onward and upward!

Great to see JWF start in his first NBA game. He seemed to rush his shots, but had a beautiful lefty layup, hustled on D and looked comfortable handling the ball.

He did rush his shots and force things at times but flashed his potential. Overall I'd say he played OK, despite shooting 3-14. Made a very nice defensive play taking a charge after fighting through a screen. Fun to to watch him in this setting, looking forward to tonight.

Agree that he looked a little nervous, as did they all. As was stated, he did OK. WIth normal JWF shooting he hits a few threes and another 2 pt shot and ends up with ~ 15 pts. And I say "normal" shooting because he did have some good looks when he was not really pressured. He missed all of them and normally would hit a few of the wide open ones.

Interesting that it was almost like they played without a PG. JWF brought the ball up, but basically passed off quickly and then headed for the corner. Looked like that had a plan to get him open looks from the corner, and many times he was open in the corner but the ball never was kicked out to him. Thats the problem - all the guys want to score to show what they can do - not too many want to work the ball. So maybe the Jazz want Justin to play between the 1 and 2 to see where he best fits with the roster they have.

One thing was very clear (even on an "off" night) - Justin's talent level shows he can easily play at this level and that his normal game would put him as one of the better players on the floor. IMO

He's starting to heat up now. 14 points so far, on 5-9 shooting, including this highlight:

8/13 fg, 2.4 from 3. Showing everyone what we always saw with him... a bad game (like last night) is just a bad game, never the start of a trend with him. He always bounces back quickly. Did so again tonight. Proud of ya, JWF! Keep working!

Really nice game for Justin who played well offensively but got burned a few times on D. After watching these first two games its amazing to me how many air balls have been thrown up. Utah doesn't seem to have too many guys who can shoot it from beyond the arc at least from what I have seen so far. Justin seems to fit into this offense and his alley oop last night is evidence on just how many ways he can score. It would be nice if some of these guys he is playing with would give up the ball as he has been open numerous times and begging for the ball. A nice interview after the game last night also and Justin as humble as ever praising his teammates. Keep it going Justin! Justin highlights https://youtu.be/FL7NjW4Risk
