Flying Dutchmen Fans

I'm looking around for a point spread and team matchups and find the following; NE scores 74 points per game and we average 82.2. They get 30.8 rebounds and we average 35.4. Our assists per game are almost identical at 14.5 to our 14.4. We allow 66.8 and they allow 74. We clearly have the advantage statistically speaking but they have played a lot of their games without their starting 5. The point spread I'm seeing from SPORTS JAW shows us a 10.5 point favorite. I'm thinking that sounds like a lot of points but we only care about winning not covering the spread. I like us a lot in this game the way we're playing!

I'm surprised by that line also. The components of the Sagarin take us by 6.49, 6.79, 4.78, and 8.48. The last component is Recent, which favors us more due to our winning streak and their loss to Delaware. Jeff Sagarin keeps his formula private, but it makes sense that we are better in the Recent component than overall. My guess for the score margin is closer to the Sagarin like 7 or 8.

This is our first real CAA test. Important that we protect our home court by beating the Huskies. I see this as a real tough game as NE must be smarting after losing to Delaware on their home court...a team we destroyed.

I think we should be legitimate 6-7 point favorites but I will take ANY win on this one.

In fact we just opened as 6.5 pt favs on ESPN's Pick Center.

Charleston at JMU is also a 4:00 P.M. game that's listed at 7:00 P.M., but I'm surprised every CAA game is listed because other than our game, you don't need CollegeSportsLive to watch. I'm going to e-mail the CAA's Rob Washburn because it's bad if there's no live video. If that's the case, it make me happier I bought tickets.

I was hoping the time listing was a mistake.

The line is down to 5. The combination of line and over/under predicts 76-71. ESPN+ includes two predictions that are way off. NumberFire predicts 77.2-67.3 (+9.9), and TeamRankings predicts 75.2-70.3 (+4.9). Seven Overtimes predicts 78-70. RealTimeRPI predicts an 84-68 big win.

Awful foul by JWF at the end of the half. But he played well (15 pts on 6/12, a couple of GREAT buckets), and a good half overall.

Down 7-2, a big 15-2 run to turn the game and go up 17-9. Up 40-34 at the half.

They did a great job on Pusica. Entered as NU's leading scorer (15.9 ppg), had just one point on 0/4 fg (all from 3).

Is Northeastern going to get called for any fouls in the 2nd half. 6 on us, 1 on them, and they’ve attempted twice as many free throws... so much for home court advantage.
Also doesn’t help that NU has attempted more than twice as many 3 pointers, and is making a good percentage of them.
Northeastern now had the lead.

Back to the old habits (which they had gotten away from this season), standing around and watching letting JWF go to work. He has half of their 50 points and all 10 in the first 8 minutes of the second half. Have to get someone else involved to win this. A 34-24 lead has become a 51-50 deficit.

Hofstra settling too much, so not deserving the calls. Although, there have been a few this second half called against Hofstra at the other end when I questioned where the foul was.
