Hope your right HUSID80 - I kind of think the same thing that they must feel confident that Djambo is possibility - I hope they are right, because I cant imagine a back plan this late before school starts

eh, I agree in the quality and experience of this staff, clearly this isn't JM's first rodeo...

But quite frankly they've been running short since day 1, so unfortunately they do not get a pass here until they prove they've actually learned the lesson. Only thing I've heard is them try to defend or ignore it all the friggin time - that is not what I want to see. I want to see some acknowledgement of a commonsense component of the game: that depth is key, this program has lacked it, and they are working their tails off to address it. I have yet to hear that. More importantly, I have yet to see them PRODUCE the RESULTS to correct it. WHY?

Leaving 3 open scholarships in a crucial reset year where depth was an undisputed issue for the last 3 is completely unacceptable IMO, especially for a veteran staff. They got worked over in this recruiting cycle - I love 'em, and I am JACKED about EP and TG, they are difference-makers, but as far as depth goes and filling their open spots, they took a hit this year, and dems just the facts.

I have no interest in seeing this team operate in a cardiac fashion year after year where it's a prayer all season long that not one single guy goes down - that is completely ridiculous - build some depth for goodness sake. Hundreds of programs at all levels do this across the nation, HU isn't so challenging that they're somehow the only one who can't.

And as mentioned, even if it's 1-2 guys who are learning on the bench, I am a huge fan of that, and this staff has proven they work that strategy beautifully - we'll see it again this year with DP and HS - it's a GREAT strength of this staff, why in the world wouldn't there be some of that this year??

They lost Ford, I get it - a big swooped in last minute, it totally sucks - but was that the only guy?? They had no other plan?? C'mon. That's just a poor job.

Look, I don't think Djambo is an impact guy at this point, but as a backup I would of course take him for this year over nothing. But he's rusty and 1 and done, so once again this staff will place themselves in a brutal position to recruit a ton of impact guys in '17 - and based on what we've seen thus far, I don't have much confidence right now they can or will bring in enough.

1 or 2 quality guys when you need 3-4 is pretty obvious math in the wrong direction. I expected a lot more in '16. I am frustrated in their lack of depth building and the seemingly lack of urgency to address it. '17 is beyond crucial... I love this staff and have made that clear, and in perspective it's only 1 class, but they have officially brought at least some doubt into my mind as to their ability to strategically recruit for the PROGRAM over the long haul.

IMO '17 is their prove it year. If they fail once again to properly address the glaring quality depth issue, then that will be a major red flag. I am REALLY hoping and pulling for JM & Co. to show us what they can really do - it CAN still be fixed, and they CAN still set this program on the right track in terms of recruiting balance - but it's time to go ALL OUT, and ALL IN, for '17 - NO EXCUSES, just GET IT DONE.

If Greer gets hurt there goes the season...I would feel much better if Sabety could play the 4 in certain situations but I get the feeling he is penciled in only at the 5 ?? Believe it or not even if he is rusty Djambo could be an important player for us

Yes, he has a full year.

Regarding any recent court time - he played last summer on the Mali national team. I saw a league (listed as "Africafest" or something like that) that he played in. Have no idea what he did over the past winter basketball season.

Yeah shooting 29% from the field isn't reassuring...Let's just roll with Rok under the basket, play Greer and then off the bench use a smallball 4, push the heck out of the tempo and see what happens. Don't see Sabety and Rok coexisting on the court together too easily. We have tremendous guard depth and one of the nation's (yes in the whole USA) best college bigs. We don't have the wings to play great defense and historically Mihalich's teams haven't been defensively stout anyway. Gonna be tough to match up with UNCW's rangy wing types, but we'll give pretty much every other team in the league fits in transition.

The only reason I'm not too concerned about our lack of class depth the last few years is because I have doubts Joe would use his bench anyway.

Roll pride right about JAM using only 7 or 8 players. Still we are one or two injuries away from it becoming a roster nightmare.

Andrew White III, a graduate transfer from Nebraska who initially declared for the 2016 NBA draft, will visit Michigan State this weekend, according to Jon Rothstein of cbssports.com.

Rothstein says White previously visited Syracuse. As a grad transfer, he would be eligible to play immediately this season.

The 6-foot-7 wing from Richmond, Va., was honorable-mention All-Big Ten this past season. He averaged 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

He played only one season at Nebraska after transferring from Kansas, where he played on a limited basis for two seasons.

White declared for the draft -- and even worked out for the Detroit Pistons -- but did not hire an agent and decided to return to college.

Being a Big MSU fan I hope he goes there BUT would be a fantastic fit for HU - from VA so we have some recruiting influence there

Do we definitely know for sure that Ros is a walk-on? I just noticed he tweeted a picture of him signing on signing day back in May.
