Rabinowitz would have cut Hofstra to D 1 Nassau County High School. In all seriousness, i do not see how the so-called mid majors can compete at all no matter how well-heeled they might be. To a certain extant this may be on the NCAA. Maybe the fix is to make the athletic programs at the P5 schools and otherwise part of the university again.

The fix would be contracts and "finder's fees," the poachers paying the poachees to buy the poachees' players out of their contracts. That would give the poachees enough money to stay relevant in D-I. We could possibly be headed there but we're still a long way from that at the moment.

The system is broken and everyone knows it but will it change soon? I would hate to see our program downgraded because of what's going on in college basketball

I basically agree with this. When there was the mandatory one-year redshirt to transfer, there was a de facto two year contract each year. Now there are no barriers, and it's the strong bullying the weak. Maybe a buy out paid to the school that made the initial investment would at least create some equity in the system

We have talked about this concept in the past in some form or fashion and there should be some form of dispensation to the aggrieved school. This will take I would imagine some sort of legal actions.

any updates on Shahid Muhammed 6'10' C from UMass. He came to HU for a visit and according to verbal commits he is still unsigned.

He probably wants more NIL money than we are prepared to give or have.

When you look at this kids resume there's not much other then a skinny shot blocker. I don't think he's a good fit here.

Only two schools in the nation will return their 1st & 2nd team all-league players. One is Purdue, the other is... Towson.

Verbal Commits is reporting an offer to Bol Agu. A 6'8" power forward. We'll see. Other than that, crickets.

According to Verbal Commits Hofstra has offered Jordan Dill a 6" 1" point guard out of Philly. At least we are showing a pulse.

This kid is a H.S. junior/senior not even really relevant to this years squad.

So when he gets trapped in the backcourt, the announcers can say Dill's in a pickle?

Incidentally, the team website is showing only 6 players, still. I couldn't figure out how many were at the volleyball and beach photos on X.
