I have a couple of corrections to what I posted yesterday now that the CAA posted the schedule at
https://caasports.com/calendar.aspx?path=mbball
Hofstra at Northeastern will be on Thursday January 9, not Saturday January 11. It will be a doubleheader on TV with Drexel at Towson at 6:00 P.M. and Hofstra at Northeastern at 8:00 P.M.
Towson at Northeastern will be on Sunday March 1, not Saturday February 29. That will be the only weekend game on CBSSN. CBSSN will not show any games on Saturdays.
Here's a summary of the CAA's out of conference games:
Total: 125
Weekend: 43 (34.4%
Weekday: 82 (65.6%)
Division I Power 5 + Big East + American Athletic (was ahead of the Pac-12 in last season's Conference NET): 19* (15.2%)
Division I nine conferences ranked from 8 through 16 in last season's Conference NET: 34 (27.2%)
Division I fifteen conferences ranked 17th and 19th through 32nd in last season's Conference NET (the CAA was 18th): 54^ (43.2%)
Unknown Division I: 9 (7.2%)
Non-Division I: 9 (7.2%)
* Here is a list of those teams by conference:
American Athletic: Temple, East Carolina, and South Florida (3)
Atlantic Coast: North Carolina twice, Virginia, Georgia Tech, and Wake Forest (5)
Big East: Xavier and Villanova (2)
Big Ten: Rutgers and Michigan (2)
Big XII: Oklahoma and Oklahoma State (2)
Pac-12: UCLA twice and Stanford (3)
Southeastern: Florida and Vanderbilt (2)
* means I didn't count these games because of how many conferences it includes, but if all the other numbers are correct then this number is correct.
The top two groups add up to 53, and the bottom groups has 54. I excluded unknown opponents including times when the opponent is guaranteed to be in one of the top two groups such as Buffalo or Connecticut.
