Sorry, thought you were referring to a new player. I would not place too much hope in Walker above what we have already seen A spot player to relive the starters.

Jorgensen (was on HU list out of HS) would be a nice segue from the BB era.

Also glad to see AW working with the team.
I think this fairly new trend of being an immediately eligible graduated player (i.e. Koon, Upshaw, Nesmith) might give a player something to consider and stay around, not transfer, another extra year to graduate then go some place that might need a more specific player or skill set -

From a recruiting standpoint, I think this is great-- quality character guys who play hard, but still have a great time. Seems like an environment any recruit would want to be a part of.
I think my favorite part of the video is simply the fact that it looks like the guys are enjoying each other's company, and they're having fun doing something silly. Looks like a great environment, and it shows how good their team chemistry is. This video is making the rounds all over social media, literally thousands of people have seen it. The post on the HofstraMBB twitter account has over 100 retweets, and Speedy's tweet with the video has over 50 retweets. The post with the video on facebook has over 900 shares and over 68k views! Plus it was posted on HofstraMBB, HofstraPride, and HofstraU's instagram accounts, so that's probably at least a couple thousand more views. Kudos to all involved in making and promoting this.
The video also does a great job at showing off our facilities.

PJ would really be a perfect both at HU and also in the CAA - he's a talented guy, I'd consider him more of a CG than a pure 1 or 2 - fairly balanced player, can drive, dish, hit the 3, create his own shot (with some lovely ankle-breakers lol), and can play some D
He never really took off at GW, although he did hold his own against some very good competition, and garnered 15 min/game off the bench - he seems to be productive in those minutes, and a fairly efficient shooter (doesn't need a gazillion shots to score)
As far as the other suiters, NU seems to be a little "off", some guys transferring, not a lot of big action on the recruiting front, just very uncharacteristic for them - well their associate HC was hired to be the HC at Brown - it seems to have made a at least some impact - I really don't seed them being a top team in the immediate term - a good team, yes, mid pack yes, but not the usual threat to win it all they've traditionally been for now
Butler... oy vey, are these guys after every HU potential? lol another P5 jumping on board to swoon a guy with a big name conf just so they can fill a bench gap - they must have anywhere from 6-8 guards on the roster in the 6'2/6'3 ish range - 6-8 - it's nuts - I know he's going to sit a year, but I don't see him #1) as a BE caliber player (tough to start for Butler when you didn't at GW in the A10), and #2) I don't see much PT for him at all
Again, I'm biased of course, but to me the HU fit is fantastic - he's a local NY guy and has enough talent to be a stud guard in the CAA - HU has 2 key ones graduating the year he'll be eligible in BB and DP... i.e. very solid PT will be there - and HU is poised to make some SERIOUS noise the yr he's able to play - a team LOADED with talent and experience (RG, HS, JR, AW, and TG as Sr's, DB and JWF as Jr's, etc.)
To my knowledge he has to sit a yr no matter where he goes - HU has the need, the PT, the stable quality coaching staff, the guard development, the NBA/pro ties, the facilities, and talented players to learn from, etc.
No brainer - however, HU is the first visit of the 3... would really like them to start being the last team visited if at all possible - love that they're getting guys on campus, thats obviously KEY - but to always be the first stop doesn't usually work out great
And the video of the players is fan-friggin-tastic!! Love it - who the heck wouldn't want to be with this team?!

Not really... they are waiting on Jorgensen and they are very high on Pemberton and Greer. Joe singled out the Hampton transfer as the fastest guy on the team and Safety for pushing Rom every day and making him better.

Hopefully Rokas and Sabety can play on the court at the same time in certain situations?? With 3 scholarships we need to add one more eligible player for next season

PJ should've committed before leaving HU's campus - he's a perfect fit, in a perfect scenario here
GW fans seem to agree, and have noted he's prob a best fit here over the other potentials
Butler fans want no part of the scholarship being used on a pure bench guy, which is all he would be there - hope he realizes it - need to go for best
FIT, not biggest conf or arena - that stuff means nothing when you barely see the floor
He can be a major player here, in particular because I agree he's a more well-rounded BB - first and foremost, he can create his own shot, and he can do so
very well - good size for the position, a CG type, which is exactly what I think HU needs the following season
I imagine he was at NU this weekend, with Butler up next - haven't heard any updates yet... I think these visits are pointless, he's an HU guy - even a great personality fit based on some interviews I've seen - but hey, I'm sure it's important for him to go through all options to ensure he makes the right move
...which is HU of course.

Per Evan Daniels Twitter:
National Christian standout Mohammed Kabir has his release from The Citadel. St. Peter's, Quinnipiac, Hofstra & Ill State have been in touch
I could go either way with this one - may not be a program changer, but could be a nice late pickup talent-wise and also seems to be a high character fella
Also, saw on other twitters that one-time NYC star Hallice Cooke is transferring again - started at Oregon St, then Iowa St
Played well at OSU, avg about 8 and they fired their coach soon after he left, not sure why, maybe poor performance - he had to sit a yr at ISU, played sparingly and not so hot there last season - if he transfers D1 again he actually loses a yr since he already took his RS - guess that means he'd sit as a JR and only have 1 yr as a SR to play - kind of like a strange grad transfer - if the character is good would def be worth trying to bring him home for 1
6'2 SG, loves the 3, nice pull-up jumper, can create space, drive/slash, and run the floor of course - could be nice right in time to replace BB

Found some video of Greer - highlights from 2015-2016 season.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1wu1Rsy60o
Most impressed with the outside game - he has a nice smooth 3 point shot to go with both a midrange and inside game. Very athletic (and if he was still hampered by his injured calf, then things will only be getting better in the future). No disrespect to DK (who had great contributions to last years success), but I think Greer will give us even more offense than DK. Hard to say based on the video what Greers basketball IQ is or how he will help on the boards.
Looks like if we want to go big, he could play the 3 spot on occasion (depends on how Sabety could fill in at the 4) -- end result could give our competition fits.
I know we lost some firepower to graduation, but with Ep and TG along with the three redshirts, I think we have plenty to look forward to next season. I will even go out on a limb and say that if EP and TG are as good as we think they may be (and JM seems to think), and they can develop quickly......and then add DP and HS.....get JR back, the only issue will be how they all gel and play together. Issue of talent and athleticism and a short bench (including Ros) will be NON issues. I'm starting to think we can have high expectations next year for another realistic CAA run.
And with still remaining open spots, who knows who else we may pick up for this season or next (redshirt). JM is certainly not settling for mediocre players. I love it!

If Sabety can play the 4 I am intrigued by this lineup for certain situations next season:
PG Buie
SG Pemberton
SF Greer
PF Sabety
C Gustys

Judging from what everyone is saying Powers is going to start at PG and Rokus/Sabety will not see the court at the same time... just hearing

Roster:
PG: Powers (Buie backup)
Bernardi (JWF backup)
Robinson (Pemberton backup)
Greer
Gustys (Sabety and Walker backup)
Definitely agree you are correct we wont see Gustys and Sabety together but I feel like it would open up so many options for us if he can play the 4 (even for just 5 or so minutes a game). Definitely need another 4 that can step in and play next year. Unless Pemberton comes in for Greer occasionally.

Certainly could be the case HUSID. Powers certainly has the experience and has a proven record of scoring. He will likely be better able to pick up some of the points scored by JG than Buie could (as least at this stage in Buie's career).
if Rok and HS will not play together, I don't see why HS and AW would play together. If that's the case, we've essentially got 3 centers (with likely an odd man out). Hope that's not the case and we get al least a few minimal minutes with 2 out of the 3 on the court together. I absolutely do not want 3 guys splitting the role, as I think we all want Rok in there for at least 30 min per game.

Agree. When Greer is playing the 4 spot and comes out for a break, who is the replacement? Based on above posts, it looks like JM will not use Sabety, and I don't see Robinson really as a 4. So yes, HUSID80, I think we do have a gap here in the current roster.
So a 4/5, secure the CG from GW (forgot his name), and leave a scholarship open for a surprise transfer.
Looking down the road, all of our bigs will be juniors next year and we currently have no one on the roster behind them. Would be a little tough to wait until they are seniors to bring in freshman behind them. Unless they turn out to be another RG, or we land a big transfer, our front line will be awful young a few seasons from now.

Would love for them to bring in 1 more for the 4, have felt that way for a long time - believe they were going hard after Ford for that purpose - at this point with him off the table, they seem to be somewhat interested in Kabir (Citadel guy) as a backup plan, but other than that, not much brewing in terms of impact guys - Ford hurt - don't want them taking someone just for the body, but it would 'feel' much better having help for Greer
He's got big time play-making ability, I agree with whoever said he can make a bigger impact than Koon (he can), and I believe will be a super starter for HU; but don't think it's fair to play him physically into the ground all year considering what he's gone through - would be great to have some help for 10-15 min a game
PJ visits Butler on Sunday, we'll find out his direction soon - he needs to be at HU, it's clearly the best fit for him - really not even a question IMO.

PJ is a nice fit for HU - HU is a better fit for PJ. Don't see the fit for him at Butler. Would be a nice bridge from graduating BB '17.
Also agree that we need to land a athletic 3/4 guy. Any JuCo's? Graduated seniors?
Glad to see AW working with the team - would love to see him work hard and earn some more minutes.

How about Djambo for the four spot? Stranger things have happened
