So the EXODUS continues in the CAA as the second leading scorer from Drexel transfers Alihan Demir 14.9 and 6.5 boards. A lot of turmoil in this conference and if this continues we might soon emerge as the front runner to win this thing. Who we get in the fold will go a long way in determining this but clearly we are a strong contender this year. Good news!!

The amount of talent that has transferred out of this conference the last 2 years is insane. Kudos to Joe and staff for keeping everyone on board, but getting concerned the possibility to recruit higher level guys is diminishing due to the conference not being as good as it used to be.

This all looks great on paper but remember the other teams in the conference can fill those voids with transfers too.

Not easy to replace kids that have been in the program for years and know the system unless you have transfers that have been practicing with the team as they redshirt. To expect kids to transfer in and play at the same level is quite a stretch. We're in a good place moving forward.

I realize this has been discussed many times but it would be great if Fordham would leave A10 for Patriot League and Hofstra could slide into that spot...

Agree. From what I have heard though, there would be a $1M penalty for jumping ship.

If it were ever to happen, maybe we all could chip in or start a go-fund-me

I honestly can't say this would be a great move because we haven't won a CAA championship since we joined now we would go to the A10 where the competition would be tougher. Are you assuming that we would be able to recruit better players and there could be at large bids in the offing?? I think this has been discussed numerous times we're probably in an OK place if we get tourneys that will be closer to home. We just need things done in a more equitable fashion here.

Yes, being in the A10 would definitely be a boost to recruiting and the CAA is showing signs of crumbling...IMO A10 would be a perfect fit for Hofstra...

We would have been in the top 4-5 in the A10 last year...it was also a down year for that League....difference is the A10 usually gets at least two bids in the Dance so if we had a similar performance, losing in the championship game after winning the regular season we would have danced.

Having said that we would need to raise our commitment level in basketball and many other sports as well...not sure it would be done. On the other hand the A10 could use a much stronger program in NY. Fordham is a joke and should not be in that League, they should go back to the Patriot which would be perfect for them.

We have much better facilities, bring a strong geographic area, Long Island as well as New York and we have a better track record of success.

Question, Would Rabinowitz pay the 1 mil exit fee. Reality check guys When hell freezes over. He was the one who spearheaded the exit fee.

Stu's right...as long as Rabinowitz is at Hofstra we do not have a shot at the A10...

Not so long ago Rabinowitz was the guy who was asking for Mike Francesca's help in getting Hofstra into the A10! Just throw that tape in his face when he balks.

I think we would go if invited....that is the big issue....the million would be made up real fast with the increased revenue from basketball due to more NCAA appearances and a much higher revenue conference championship.

Yea I think so, they really didn't have a lot of good teams. VCU was the only really good team, and that was because of athleticism, then Dayton, Davidson, maybe St. Louis...St. Bonaventure, Rhode Island, George Mason, Duquesne were OK. The rest of the league was bad. They wouldn't go 15-3 in conference, but maybe 12-6? 11-7 would have tied for 5th in the conference. They ran right with VCU on the road and should have won that game - likely would have if it were played in the conference schedule when they were rolling.

I'll join you on this but being cautiously optimistic that both will wind up with us in the CAA.

triplec - I am as well. As of today, we have no new additions to next seasons playing roster (other than IK and HH - who we all knew about). OS has to sit a year, and from what has been posted on this board, KC will redshirt.

Yes but feeling good that we will land some impact players that will be ready to contribute this year. I'm counting on HUSID's input.

Was told a month ago, reported here that Burgess told the staff he was coming but wanted to wait until signing day, which I believe is April 14...have notheard anything otherwise since.
