At any rate, for the game, this is a monster and I hope we are able to put some fans in the seats - I plan to be there. And yes, I want to see HU make a statement here and put on a show on the court. It's time to win, in loud fashion.
Pols, that's the idea. Competition in all sports that eac school sponsors. I have even reached out to some potential sponsors. Happy to share the presentation with you off line.

No excuses now, any win is good, but should really win by double digits tomorrow. Pratt will not be playing:

Or, it could get them amped up, and play harder

Pratt suspended as expected. Damn. What was supposed to be an exciting game is now ruined

Why are we acting like they're Duke? Okay, they've won the last four. So what? We have such PTSD from a few losses.

Hofstra was already a clear favorite in this game at home. Stony Brook is a far worse road team than home team and now they will be missing their leading scorer. I don't care how amped up they are. They should be held under 70 and Hofstra should win comfortably, by at least a dozen.

Yeah, and I kind of wanted the test for Hofstra with only two games left before the tournament. It's now less of a test, which I don't think serves them as well. But they can only play who they play.

The CAA is saying in its clinching scenarios that Hofstra clinches a double bye with both a Monmouth loss at home to Elon (they play at 3 pm) and a Hofstra win over Stony Brook tomorrow night.

But Hofstra actually clinches the 3 seed with simply a win over Stony Brook even if Monmouth beats Elon earlier in the day.

Even if you give Monmouth two wins and a Hofstra loss to Drexel after a win over Stony Brook, Hofstra still ends up 3rd after a three-team tiebreaker here: https://bball.notnothing.net/caa.php?sport=mbb

3. Hofstra (11 - 7) - Above Drexel and Monmouth based on round-robin record (3-1).
4. Drexel (11 - 7) - Above Monmouth and below Hofstra based on round-robin record (2-2).
5. Monmouth (11 - 7) - Below Hofstra and Drexel based on round-robin record (1-3).

Everyone else playing on Saturday will be done before Hofstra and Stony Brook take the court.

The fan should have been ejected and/or barred from attending Monmouth's next home game. Video in this article:

There are crappy fans everywhere. As an athlete you should know better. Tune them out.

Really disappointed Pratt did something as stupid as this.

We are 12.5 point favorites in this game and you have to wonder how much the line was affected by Pratt not playing. We were going to be big favorites in this game regardless and we were going to win it in convincing fashion but SB not having Pratt will give them an excuse for losing. Either way we would have and will be playing this game with a lot of resolve going into the CAA tourney!

https://defiantlydutch.blogspot.com/202 ... brook.html is Jerry Beach's "I'll Be Quirky: Stony Brook." We are down to ten teams that have not lost by double-digits, and they are Arizona, Connecticut, Duke, Florida, Us, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Nebraska, UNCW, and Stephen F. Austin. Our 10 losses are as many as the next two highest teams combined, which are 6 by Florida and 4 by multiple teams.

Davis is in 38th with 1,074 points, and he has 16 fewer than Ameen Tanksley.

In Jerry's "Keep it Perky: Northeastern" at https://defiantlydutch.blogspot.com/202 ... rn_27.html he said "the 82-68 win at Northeastern was a unicorn score, meaning the first time that we won by that score."

Campbell leads 52-46 at Towson. https://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=623870 has statistics.

W&M leads 65-61 at NC A&T. https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=613358 has statistics.

Monmouth leads 16-7 hosting Elon. https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=613131 has statistics.

https://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=611988 will have statistics of Northeastern at Hampton at 4:00 P.M.

Edit: Towson is on a 14-2 run to go from down 13 to down 63-62 with 3:58 left, and Campbell is going to the free throw line. Towson's Dylan Williamson had 2 points at halftime and 4 points until he made a three with 7:12 left, which started him scoring 11 points in 2:10. Towson also got a three-point play. Campbell has only 2 turnovers.

Edit: Towson won 71-67. Jack Doumbia Jr. made the winning shot with 1:00 left, which was Towson's first lead in 24 minutes. Doumbia Jr. led all players with 20 points. Tyler Tejada had 17 points and 8 rebounds. Chris Fields Jr. led Campbell with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Campbell's top two scorers for the season, D.J. Smith and Jeremiah Johnson, entered averaging 34.8 points. Smith scored 5, and Johnson scored 4. Smith shot 1-8, and he did not have any positive contributions other than points.

W&M won 91-88 at NC A&T. The NC A&T announcers complained that it took W&M 6.5 seconds to inbound the ball, and a 5 second violation was not called. W&M had balance, as their top scorer scored under a sixth of their minutes. That was sub Reese Miller, who scored 15. W&M had five players score double-digits, and two players scored 8. NC A&T had four players score at least 15. Lewis Walker scored 27, and three players scored 15. That included Trent Middleton Jr., who led all players in rebounds with 10, and led all players in assists with 6. It was the 43rd time this season that at least four teammates scored at least 15 points in a loss. W&M dominated points off turnovers 20 to 2, and bench points 42 to 12.

Monmouth leads 52-36 hosting Elon. Elon's Chandler Cuthrell has 16 points, including free throws 10-10. Kavion McClain leads Monmouth with 14, Jason Rivera-Torres scored 11, and they tied for the most rebounds among all players with 6 and the most assists among all players with 4.

Hampton leads 23-22 hosting Northeastern.

Edit: Monmouth won 73-57 hosting Elon. Elon's Chandler Cuthrell led all players with 23 points. Elon was without Kacper Klaczek, who is third on the team in points, second in rebounds, and second in assists. Monmouth was led by Jason Rivera-Torres with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists; and Kavion McClain with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. McClain committed 4 fouls and 5 turnovers. It was Monmouth's senior day.

Northeastern leads 44-42 at Hampton.

If Stony Brook beats us, there will be a four-way tie for third.

Edit: Hampton won their senior day 76-65 hosting Northeastern. Hampton's Michael Eley led all players with 21 points. William Kermoury and Youri Fritz tied for Northeastern's lead with 13 points. Fritz shot 5-5 and had 8 rebounds. Kermoury had 10 rebounds.

We are starting Edmead, Davis, Plotnikov, DeCady, and Sunday. Stony Brook is starting Rob Brown III (guard, 10.4 points), Ethan Simmon (guard, 5.8 points), Andrej Shoshkikj (guard, 9.9 points, 2.4 assists which is their most other than suspended Erik Pratt), Richard Goods (forward, 8.2 points, 6.0 rebounds), and Quin Gorman (forward, 3.8 points).

We lead 15-11. Edmead committed his second foul with 10:53 left in the half. Stony Brook has 3 more field goal attempts. We attempted only two two-pointers in over nine minutes. Stony Brook has four fouls, so they can only commit up to two more defensive fouls that do not cause free throws.

32-32 at halftime after leading, 23-13.

Both teams settling too much:

Stony Brook 10/31, 6/19 from 3.
Hofstra 10/27, 7/20 from 3.

Stony is playing their game. Hofstra is settling, playing right into Stony's plan.

Geno Ford continues to coach circles around Speedy... he'll let German and Biggie take a thousand threes before Cruz or Edmead takes a shot, and that's exactly what's happened. Meanwhile Hofstra doesnt respect Stony's role players ability to knock down 3s. 3rd straight really bad half on the offense end from Sunday as well, and what the hell is Speedy doing leaving him out there to pick up a 3rd foul there at the end of the half?!

Cruz is gonna need to start forcing the issue in the 2nd half. We are really lucky Pratt is suspended.
