The story of this game wasn't their offense which seems to be a given now at almost 78 points a game but obviously the game plan was to stop Tejada and Williamson. Imagine everyone happy that Tejada scores 22 points has 6 rebounds and 4 assists. He scored about 6 points over his average but I agree that you're not going to stop him but give DeCady a lot of credit especially in the first half for playing in your face D on him. He had a much better second half. He actually looked very average in the first half. So with all the talk about Biggie and let me say I'm a fan of his what was he going to give us in this game that DeCady didn't?? He wasn't going to give us better D I think we can all agree on that so MAYBE he was going to give us some more offense which in hindsight we didn't need. I'm playing the Devil's advocate here just making the point that his absence in this game wasn't all that crucial. Now maybe in another game lets say against UNCW, W&M or Charleston that could be a different story. One thing for sure Biggie is a much better FT shooter then DeCady which is something both Josh and Victory need to work on.
I think just talking about D the player of the game has to be Preston and his relentless pursuit of Williamson which out of frustration caused him to take numerous bad shots bricks and airballs galore. So while Cruz' scoring obviously important the freshman shutting down the redshirt junior who was scoring 14 points a game was IMO the difference maker in this win. Also give credit to German offensively for putting up 17 points and now showing that he's not just a catch and shoot three point scorer but a guy who can also score off the dribble. If he wasn't scoring in this game I believe we would have seen more of Roberts!

It's not only now. He always was this. He showed a mix of hitting 3s and sometimes shot-faking those, getting around defenders, and aggressively attacking the rim for dunks or other buckets in the paint over the past three seasons. Despite that, he was just never looked for or used enough. This year, he finally has teammates who recognize that in him to get him more of those opportunities.triplec2195 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 09, 2026 7:25 am Also give credit to German offensively for putting up 17 points and now showing that he's not just a catch and shoot three point scorer but a guy who can also score of the dribble.
