Not that talent rich that we can be a feeder program for Power 5 programs and still win a CAA Championship and make the Tourney.

Unless Hofstra suddenly gets enough money to keep its best players, the choice isn't Hofstra's. They'll be a feeder program by default and they'll lose those players by default. It's not really pushing them out the door, it's setting them up for their own success the best way Hofstra can so that Hofstra can not only help those players but will also reap the simultaneous benefit of creating a reputation as one of the better feeder schools to lure better and more numerous replacement talent.

Ideally, you hope that the talent isn't as top-heavy as it's often been, so that they can win more CAA titles to go along with the CAA POY awards, but that's dependent on the quantity (as much as the quality) of the talent they can bring in before that talent ultimately leaves. That last part (the talent leaving) will happen regardless, so it's not like they're willingly sacrificing CAA titles by pushing their best players out the door. It's merely the reality of the situation, making the best of it, and hoping to win more CAA titles along the way.

So for next year with this kid Swann coming in and a lot of proven talent here maybe we find the money to get one more year from Cruz. CraZIER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED and if this teams plays well in the CAA it could become compelling.
