Announcement on twitter - show him some love if you have an account!
https://twitter.com/iamJaquann/status/1 ... 1893317635

Latest highlight, hitting a game winner on a sweet pullup - sounds like he's HU material alright:
https://twitter.com/HoopDreams_NYC/stat ... 4643112961

His 247 page, still has to update the commit, but good to see his rating:
https://247sports.com/Player/Jaquan-Carlos-46050625/

Future150 page, no recent updates, but good assessment and shows him as a 'high major' prospect:
https://future150.com/hs/basketball-pro ... yn-ny-2021

We all wanted to see what could be done on the trail with some extra juice after making the dance - still haven't actually had the chance to shine on the national stage in it yet, but the attention of the CAA crown and NCAAT ticket is still a big boost - if this squad can pull off the repeat and actually get the honor of playing in the dance this season, recruiting is going to continue to be a whole lot of fun

Let's go HU!

Forgive the multiple posts, but one more good one, here's a great 247 article on JC's commitment today - this staff has always recruited well for a mid, but is absolutely on fire of late - big talent as we know (25 pts / 7 assists over last 3 yrs at TJ HS), and sounds like a great kid - and the optics alone of 'beating out' 2 ACC teams, a Big 12 one, and one from the A10 is not something we see every day around here lol. 2 more spots to fill if they want to in this class, let's keep making big moves staff!

Really excited to see this young man suit up and become one of the next HU star guards:

Good job. Glad to see us back recruiting in NYC.

Did JC sign his NLI today?

And are we looking to add a third recruit to this class?

Really nice get and kudos to Speedy once again recruiting his butt off. Buie, Foreman now Carlos. Now let’s get a big stud post player that would be the cream on the cake!!

Fantastic! I'm stoked. Great job, now a big! Polito, I know you are referencing Va. Tech + Pitt but we also beat out Wake + NC St.; FOUR ACC teams. Trivia question for you guys. We had a star from Jefferson when this fossil went to Hofstra. He played under Butch VBK.

Can't believe SI would publish an article about a player OSU hadn't offered:

Biggest get in the CAA so far.

Future150 has him at #135 in the country.

Now as mentioned a big would be great - my bet is transfer market, I don’t know of any HS they’re going after at the moment - certainly could be under the radar, but I think HU likes to take more mature / seasoned big guys who are proven and ready to contribute, and I love that approach

Will be curious to see where Brantley ends up now.

And wouldn’t surprise me to see another SG / Wing as well, let’s see...

Nobody I don't think mentioned it but the SI article refers to him as a 6'1" guard does anyone know that to be true. By the time he gets here who knows maybe 6'5" LOL!!

LOL
I saw that too!
Ill take him just the way he is. At 6'5" we may not get him (probably more of ACC player then a CAA player at 6'5").
As I said before "Great Get" for Speedy!
Now we need to start signing some bigs to replace Truehart/Kante/ Schutte over the next 2 years.

There's a ton of video on this kid on you tube even him playing against Cole Anthony some time ago. I agree with Polito on this signing I've watched a lot of footage on this kid he certainly may be the next great guard to play for us. He comes in with higher grades then both Foreman and Desure. It looks like at Jefferson he has been playing with good backcourt players who can shoot and that may help his game because they can't double on him but this kid probably could play in the ACC right now. I'm excited to see how his senior year plays out and how well he's going to play for us. He has really good moves and dribbling skills and I would imagine he gets to the foul line a LOT!! Huge signing.

Carlos (and Brantley) are both probably hanging around 6'0 - would bet he stays in that range, but a little bump to 6'2 would be fantastic if it happens 8-)

As for a big, with the forced resignation of Pat Chambers at PSU, Elijah Everett a 6'9 210lb big just de-committed (the last of their class to do so after the news), and I think HU should go after him next with all they've got.

On the surface: 3-4 star kid, top 5 in NJ, top 30ish position / top 200 overall nationally. From the perennial power Putnam Science program. Rebounds, blocks, passes well / good IQ, and can score at the basket. Can hit the three now and then. A double-double guy with great size for HU's system. But he is not super athletic, doesn't really play much above the rim, needs to finish better after contact, and develop more depth to his offensive game. For those reasons I see a young man that is ripe to evolve and ultimately become an all-conf performer.

Although he is a very good player and would be a huge get here, what I see on film he is not a 4 star. He is a solid 3, which is right in HU's wheelhouse, and I think would be a MUCH better fit in the CAA than a P5. Talented, and would firmly and easily put HU's class at the top of the CAA, but not quite matching with some of the higher rankings IMO. That would bode well for HU if they decide to pursue and can convince him he is better off developing into a star at this level than trying to force it somewhere much higher.

Farrelly and Speedy, get after this fella!

Love it!!

Grab a Big and a SG/Wing and put a bow on a super class. My bet is mining the massive transfer market for more big time / immediate impact talent...

Agree
I anticipate - huge influx of transfers from/to many teams
My thought is you, as we do, get your high school guards early and then you sell (experienced transferring) bigs immediate playing time; "your the guy"
