I said the same thing when he was first hired, Stu. With his background, I'm sure the only reason he stayed local (coaching at St john's HS and at HU, and giving private pitching lessons to top HS and some college pitchers) was a personal choice (likely family considerations). I always said if he was interested in something "larger" and off of Long Island, the guy would be in demand and likely could be in whatever position (pro or college) that he wanted. We were lucky to have him for the time we did.

His daughter plays soccer at Fairfield U, so him being at Hofstra gave him a chance to be at least somewhat near her, to be able to see her play. I believe she’s going into her senior year, so come baseball season, it won’t matter if he’s near her or not, since her season will be done. Maybe that’s also a factor in him finding something else.

oops, my bad. I assumed she meant the pitcher out of Boston College of the same name who has played in the minor leagues.
