We lose 8 - 6 after leading by 3 goals Nova scores 5 straight. So typical - another 4th quarter collapse. How many times have we seen this with a Tierney team.

We lose to Nova 8-6 after leading by 3 goals. Nova scores 5 straight goals. Our usual 4th quarter collapse. How often have we seen this under Tierney.

Agonizing loss to Villanova today
We led 5-1 after 1st quarter only to score one goal the rest of the game and lose 8-6

I'll comment on this but don't crucify me because I know very little about Lacrosse but just from looking at the stats I don't think you need to be a Rocket Scientist to come to the conclusion that time of possession was big time in their favor to be able to have such a major shot advantage 52-17 and they won 14 of 18 faceoffs. So can I conclude that our goalie who made a lot of saves was under siege most of this game especially in the second half? Poor D or what??

Mac Gates stood on his head but the 52 shot onslaught was too much for him. Villanova has always played low scoring games. score 5 goals in first period then 1 goal for the rest of the game will not get it done. We have been a mediocre team but now that we cant win faceoffs it makes things even worse.
its going to be a long season if we dont address this situation.

Another disappointing and crushing loss...can't go from up 6-2 to losing...no goals in the second half....

I would say by reading this post you either have a good understanding of lacrosse or a good understanding of sports in general. Based on the game stats, and as you pointed out time of possession they should have lost by 12 - 15 goals and yet they were leading until mid way through the 4th quarter. Villanova shot a lot if not accurately, Mac Gates was awesome. Hopefully when the Dutch get everybody back from injuries they can surprise some people in the CAA.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Dutchflid but I'm lucky if I know the ball from the stick however I was just using the common sense approach here based on the stats. If they took that many shots obviously they were dominating the time of possession. You couldn't have taken the shots obviously without first having the ball. All of those won faceoffs helped them to get the ball among other things obviously. Trying my best to get on board it's a really quick and exciting sport.

Hofstra drops a 12-6 decision to Binghamton
After being held scoreless by Villanova in the second half
Binghamton limits us to only one goal in the second half today
Aliso we were destroyed in the faceoff circle again

Out of 22 faceoffs we win three. Have we hit ROCK BOTTOM or does this FREE FALL continue??

I received this today, please no snarky comments, I am just passing this along

I am reaching out to say THANK YOU to everyone who has supported our team through Hofstra Day of Giving! This campaign is incredibly important to our program because it shows our student-athletes how many alum, family, and friends support the program that you all helped build.

An anonymous alum has made a $10,000 match that will help support the lacrosse program. This means anyone who supports men’s lacrosse through Hofstra Athletics Day of Giving between now and tomorrow, will have their donation matched dollar-for-dollar! I hope all of our alum, parents and supporters will consider a gift to the program and have their donation doubled to support our team. If you have any questions, please click the link below or reach out to Jerry Hubshman at Jerry.d.Hubshman@hofstra.edu.

Thank you again for considering a gift to the program and I hope many of you will take advantage of the gift match opportunity!

I disagree since in past when he has donated has it made it public so wouldn't make sense for him to go the anonymous route now.
