Nice press push being done by SID lately, getting some good placements. That's a nice heads-up about Crowley, Cybersam, thanks for the background.
Next year we won't have Byrne, who's arguably the biggest offensive threat in college lacrosse, and we'll lose Clarke. But Kav, Alderman, Moeser, Concannon, Osman and others will all be seniors. Big senior classes usually do pretty well even if they're missing a gamechanger like Byrne. It doesn't seem like our current soph class is all that strong, but maybe they're just blocked by the big junior class ahead of them. Freshman class looks promising and the incoming classes do as well, we need to capitalize on the season and land some good recruits.
Something to keep an eye on is all-americans...Concannon and Osman were both mentioned for it in midseason, and I believe they're both native Long Islanders. That would be a great message to send to the local kids.

The NCAA selection committee released their top 10 today... HU at 9, which is an embarrassment for the selection committee. That doesn't put us in hosting contention for a first round game, with only 16 teams making the field. Hopefully that'll light even more of a fire in their bellies.

To Proud of Pride, actually, there are seventeen because of the play-in game between the two lowest ranked automatic bid conferences There are nine automatic and eight at large bids. Remember the ACC does not have an automatic bid (because of only five members), so between that conference and Big Ten, Ivy, and the rest, it becomes essential to win the CAA Tournament. This shows why HU does not want to leave its NCAAT participation to a committee. A few seasons ago, an undefeated Bucknell team was left out of the NCAAT. I also recall a HU Danowski team that defeated Duke toward the season's end, but was left out in favor of that same Duke team. My guess for the reason for the low HU ranking is because of a lack of a significant win. The UNC victory now carries less weight because of their subsequent losses.

Bucknell getting left out while undefeated happened 21 years ago, Hofstra getting snubbed happened in '02.
While I think the NCAA is rife with cronyism and has a horribly flawed ranking system determined by partisan morons, we're not getting left out with 1 or 2 losses. It's not as bad as it was 15 years ago when nobody paid attention to lacrosse nationally. The teams ahead of us will inevitably cannibalize themselves before selection Sunday, we will get a home game if we take care of business. Our schedule is starting to look better than initially thought too, Princeton, Monmouth and Providence are legit teams with good records.
Beat Drexel, beat UMass, get into the dance. Win the CAAT, get a home game. We're hosting the quarters so we have an opportunity for back to back home games.

Play in games don't count as part of the tournament in lacrosse like they do in basketball.

UNCblows a 5 goal lead and losses to Cuse 12-11 in OT

9-2 halftime lead is now an 11-9 lead, the team is basically non-existent in the second half. Another struggle to win face-offs, no offense or defense, and Concannon is probably having his worst game of the season in net, with only 6 saves to go along with the 9 goals allowed.

Can't score on man-up and can't stop man-up. Seem exhausted. Not good.

11-10 now, thanks to yet another man up goal for Drexel. WTF is going on right now? After a 7 goal lead, we are now in serious danger of losing this came because the team literally can not do anything, besides let the other team score.

We haven't even had any man-up opportunities, Drexel hasn't been called for any penalties, because they're actually playing smart.

Tie game now, another man-up goal for Drexel, who is now 4-5. HU bench got that penalty. And most of Drexel's faceoff wins were won by violation, so something is definitely off.
And right after the tying goal, we lost the face-off (no surprise there), and then get called for another penalty #6 on the day, so Drexel will be man-up for another minute when there are only 1:16 left in the game. Honestly we deserve to lose this

7 goals given up in the 4th quarter after only giving up 2 the entire first half. What a joke.

We're not making the NCAAT, guarantee we're losing the next three.

This was torturous a regular season loss as I can remember and still feel sick to my stomach the next morning not just at the loss but the way we lost. We dropped from 7 to 10 in the laxpower RPI rankings, which isn't as bad I expected, but leaves no room for error the rest of the way if we want to get an at-large. We need to bounce back against UMass and then win at Towson, who is now 9 in RPI, and that would put us at 12-1 and if we lost in CAAs would only have two losses and if nothing else would be on bubble if we have at least three top 20 RPI wins. UNC beating Syracuse would have been major help, so sucked to see them fall apart before game. Unfortunately any chance at hosting a first round NCAA game likely went up in smoke yesterday, but first things first, let's get the positivity back against Minutemen for what should be another solid crowd if weather cooperates. It was great to see 3,000 for game last night,

SOOOO disappointing that we had everything going for us and then blew this game. Big crowd, national media coverage, a 9-2 lead at the half. Hopefully it serves as a wake up call that we are capable of LOSING to every team remaining on our schedule if we don not play hard and smart. On a day when Concanon was not at his best we should have stepped up in other areas and face-offs are becoming a real concern with this team. Go Pride, finish this thing off!

This has been the MO of this team all season. We have been dodging the bullet until this game. Evan you are the stat expert what had the scoring by each quarter been this year. We probably have been outscored 4 to 1. This cannot continue. We have been warning about these collapses in the 4quarter. Now it has come back to bite us in the arse I don't think any lead going into the 4 th is large enough anymore. Drexel scored their last 3 goals in a little over one minute
