Scouting Report

ESPN Analyst
Updated 12/12/2014

Strengths:
Wright-Foreman is an explosive athlete and gifted scorer who has continued to improve at a rapid rate throughout his high school career. He's best known for his ability to play above the rim and make momentum changing plays in the open floor but is also a dramatically improved shooter who is now a scoring threat in all three ranges. He's become a player who can make shots in bunches, and is starting to become a three-point threat even coming off screens. The slick left-hander is tough to stop off the dribble as well as he has an assortment of moves (head-and-shoulder fakes, changing speeds, etc.) to keep defenders off balance.

Weaknesses:
For a long time the consistency of his jump-shot was his biggest liability, with that now developing into an underrated asset, Wright-Foreman only needs to continue to work on his consistency, especially when he doesn't get quite the same volume of shots and touches. He also needs to continue to improve his right hand, mid-range ball skills, and facilitating. At this stage he's an undersized scorer and consequently a small two-guard.

Bottom Line:
It was the July prior to his senior year, at the Adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas, that Wright-Foreman started to prove the pieces were coming together. If his rate of improvement continues, he has the potential to develop into a high level scoring guard at the next level.

was just checking in on any new info -

plays physical, attacks the basket, versatile, looks good - like I said this staff better be recruiting their a$$es off based on what I'm seeing recently - if they're going small and fast then these 6'6ish wing/forward types are what they'll need - whatever the strategy, it's clear they need more talent than what they have now, so let's go, let's see some action on the dotted line to complete this class

right before signing day.... interesting to see this offer go out, perhaps some real meat to it

this guy is a big fella for his position - plays very physical, and this team desperately needs more toughness - quite interested to see what comes HU's way with this signing period

So now we have offers to 4 similar players
Wesley Alceigare
Malik Constantine
Austin Burnette
Kevon Harris
I'm thinking they're looking for a replacement for Nichols/Tanksley? (For when they graduate). Alceigare would only have 2 years of eligibility tho I'm not sure. Speedy is visiting Burnette this week to discuss a visit. Staff going hard after these guys

I'm curious, could they be looking to bring in 2 of those type of guys...?

I hope they are looking to bring in a real PF instead with that last scholly - that is truly the position of need here.

Another guard for this class... Interesting

Friend helped remind me they are probably going with a 4 guard set for the long term - prob a scoring pt, 2 sg's, an athletic 6'6ish wing, and one big guy down low

That's fine, that style can win in college, but you better make sure you haul in lights out shooters - I think they need to upgrade there a bit...guess that's what they're looking to do

Saw Marvin Prochet piece on NYCHoops yesterday... haven't seen that name in awhile, was a real talent, guess had an injury, now back in action for LuHi

believe HU, and many others, were on this kid at the time, wonder if HU plans to go after him? 2015, 6'6, 3* level player - seems like right up JM's ally...

Were there any recruits there last night???

(And whether they won or lost really doesn't matter for that stuff, fyi)

Our lack of size continues to haunt us (such as last night's NU game). Yet I don't see anything in the works to look for a 6'7" - 6'8" PF who can put up some points. Of course I realize these guys are in high demand, but all we continue to hear about is recruiting guards and small farwards (and JM likes them to play like guards anyway). Does anyone know of any recruiting efforts looking for size with some scoring potential?

Need more than just size-remember we have a 6'9" guy who does not get a chance play and the 6'10" transfer gets to play one year for us.

Yeah you need height and they will have 3 guys @6'10 but its def more than that - many teams win in college smaller and faster so you really just need guys that at long and athletic

If they're going for a guard how about Jaren Sina - leaving seton hall, big player, don't think he's a bad seed just an odd situation over there...

Looks like JAM should talk to John Russo about this player. Justin Salem of Bergen Catholic, signed to our baseball team, but per several twitter posts, he's pretty good at basketball as well.

Justin Wright Foreman scored 19 in that game for Construction. Looks like we are getting 2 guards that can really score. Hopefully 1 or both can contribute immediately next year.

Worried about Buies slight frame. At 6ft1 and 140 dripping wet it looks like he will get killed going into the lane. There are some very physical guards in the CAA. Also 6ft1 and 6ft2 are not terribly big for a point and shooting guards. can see taller shooting guards posting up Wright-Foreman.
