Hofstra completes the sweep over Charleston with a 8-7 win today. Charleston had a grand slam in the 9th, but we held on for the win. CofC was nationally ranked last week, so this is huge for Hofstra. We put a big dagger into their NCAA regional hosting contention. According to The Chronicle, this is the first time Charleston has been swept since 2009.
We even got a shout out from the official NCAA baseball account! I'm not sure they've ever acknowledged Hofstra baseball before.

We also came oh so close to blowing an 8-3 lead in the ninth.

I looked at rankings at
http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/baseball/d ... com-top-25 and other polls you can get to from the drop-down menu. College of Charleston was 15th in the RPI last week but wasn't ranked in any polls. Now they're 31st in the RPI. Hofstra moved up from 243rd to 213th out of 300.
Edit:
http://www.cofcsports.com/SportSelect.d ... EASON=2013 says College of Charleston got swept at Houston on March 21, 22, and 23, 2014. Maybe it meant the last time College of Charleston got swept in a conference series was in 2009. It happened on May 14, 15, and 16, 2009 at the Citadel.
Edit: Last year College of Charleston swept Hofstra in a 3 game series with 23 runs for them and 5 for us.

They were ranked 30th in the NCBWA Poll the week of April 4th, and receiving votes the week of April 11th. Now they've dropped out completely.

We have the CAA player of rookie of the week, David Leiderman and John Rooney. Rooney is the player we wanted to join the basketball team.

After sweeping C of C we erase a 5 run deficit and win 12-6.

Hofstra baseball pitcher John Rooney is featured on ESPN's Snapchat story today. He's wearing an HU baseball shirt in the clip of him. There's potential for millions of people to watch that story. Pretty cool.
