Love it! Great player on and off the court for us. In addition to being a class act of a person, he also should be able to help development of our bigs as well as overall team defense/rebounding.

Looks like a good hire. Smart kid, good pedigree and knows Hofstra...also from the UK, maybe we can land us some Euros!

Welcome back to Hofstra, Nelson!

Nelson played for former Hofstra standout Bob McKillop at Davidson. I imagine he’ll be working with our tall frontcourt.

What a fun hire! Guy was a winner, and has an all time Hofstra moment with the Rutgers shot in the NIT.

Maybe German joins him back here one day

Okayyyyyy, really dig this hire - the downside is he is brand new to coaching, and there will undoubtedly be a real learning curve to develop an approach, to know how to connect and convey messages, etc.), but this is definitely someone who has real potential in coaching if he so chooses.

And he's a super example of a player that wasn't born a star, but developed over time into a force and a major impact player, so he should be able to help others do the same - and I definitely like him coaching bigs vs a bunch of short guard guys (lol no offense staff, but you need a post guy to coach post!)

Feel a bit better now, although again it's one thing to play well, and another to be able to teach it. Pulling for him, this could be a surprise staff win in time.

Agree, the learning curve could be a downside vs. someone more experienced, but I think he will likely work hard and learn fast.

It's really cool to hire from inside the family and he's a great dude. I hope he succeeds as much for his own sake as for Hofstra's.

And as mentioned above, maybe he has some UK connections that could help with recruiting. It's a potentially exciting hire for the program.
