It certainly seems silly IMO to even bring this up but we're playing this game to win to take momentum and to go into the tourney on a very positive note.. Considering how well we didn't play against SB this game is a business as usual game all starters play like it's important in the standings. If someone is hurt then minutes can change but I don't think we want Drexel hanging around like we let SB hang around in that game. If we didn't play Sunday then we would risk Victory getting into foul trouble and maybe having to play Alex. Drexel is not a very big team as far as starters go so maybe we could go without a true 5 in this one. If we get up big then and only then do we start bringing our bench in.

We're 8.5 point favorites with a 85% chance of winning so lets hope we win this game wire to wire and Cruz plays like Cruz can play. We need him firing on all cylinders from here on out!

https://x.com/CBKReport/status/2028603766157549630 had 12 people pick conference tournament winners. 5 picked UNCW, 5 picked Charleston, and 2 picked us. None of the 17 conferences in Part 1 had unanimous picks, with 11 picking Navy in the Patriot League, and 11 picking High Point in the Big South.

I'll take the vote of confidence from two sources shows that people believe in this team!

Anyone here going to DC? Where are you staying? Trying to do something last minute but the hotels are price gouging like crazy

Staying at the Comfort Inn in Oxon Hill, MD (only about 5 miles from the arena). Have stayed there for a few past CAA tourneys, always works out well. Free breakfast daily. Through Trivago, it was only $84 per night.

That was a very strange first half. Drexel's first 24 pts came exclusively on 3s.

Hofstra started 12-2 on the offensive glass but only had an 8-6 edge in second-chance points.

Davis still struggling (2/8 fg). Dragons did a good job of forcing the ball out of his hands initially, but then he starting missing some he should make.

That half, on the heels of Saturday's win, did not inspire much confidence for DC.

On the other hand, any time you have EIGHT fewer 3s (Drexel 9/17, Hofstra 1/10) and you're only down six at halftime, you'll take it. But they really need to show something, especially Davis in the second half. They have also forgotten about Plotnikov again (1/1 fg).

Sure enough, German gets the first shot of the second half and hits it.

Sorry, didn't mean to post these here and couldn't delete. I posted over on the Drexel game thread.

Im not going, but I did look into it. There are a few hotels/motels in Camp Springs, MD. It is right off the beltway and near the Branch Avenue Metro station on the Green Line.

So we play the winner of the W&M/Elon game. Might have been better to lose tonight and drop to the 4th spot and play the winner of NCAT/NE and Drexel.

The 5 seed will play the NC A&T/Northeastern winner. The 4 seed will play the winner between (5) Drexel and either NC A&T or Northeastern.

I expect Hofstra's defense to be much better the second time around whichever team they face, but it's interesting how things have worked out:

Arguably the best defense vs. the team that scored the most against them.

Before tonight, Towson allowed one fewer point (1,999) than Hofstra (2,000), with each playing 30 games, for the CAA lead.

As of now, Hofstra has allowed a CAA-low 2,051 points (66.2 ppg), Towson is second at 2,056 (CAA games only, Drexel is first, allowing 1,169, Hofstra next at 1,190; Towson next at 1,194; UNCW fourth at 1,224).

So, it just so happens that if you count all games, the team that allowed the least amount of points (total and average) will, either way, face a team on Sunday that scored the most against Hofstra this year: the Pride allowed 89 in a home loss to Elon and allowed 89 in a loss at W&M.

So yeah, the 4 spot might've been better (very likely Drexel again) rather than likely W&M (which is probably a worse matchup even though two seeds worse), but they can beat either if they play the D they played in the second half tonight and which they played for the majority of this season.

We were guaranteed the 3 seed whether we won or lost.

Towson defeated Stony Brook 69-57 for the second time this season.

Another season is in the books.

I was really impressed by how this team came together and the quality of basketball they showed me.

The CAA was much tougher this year than I thought it'd be, and we got to see some great games at the Mack.

This might not have been our strongest HU team, but they gave it their all and competed in every game I saw. Even in the early away game at Iona, where the first half was rough, they kept fighting. Big credit to our staff for putting together a team that really played for one another.

Edmead might be undersized, but he played every night like a seasoned college veteran - I so comfortable with him and when the ball is in his hands when we are pressed by opposing teams. He was a big part of all of our wins and kept the team’s competitive spirit alive night in and night out. Tough kid!

German was an underappreciated, steady veteran who had some great shooting nights - and also more than a few duds too. He always helps with the little things and acted like a floor coach.

Biggie goes after every possession - on both ends of the court. I like him better coming off the bench than starting. He rebounds well, plays tough defense, and has been our best offensive player lately as we head into the tournament.

DeCady’s offense has really improved, especially his outside shooting - not consistant from game to game, but.... He’s athletic and often takes on the opponent’s best defender.

Sunday got better but didn’t quite become the “big” player I hoped for. He had a strong Senior Night in front of his mum and ended the year as a solid rebounder and shot blocker. Last night was the only time I saw him shoot a straight-up ... unfortunatly it was not a three-footer but a three-pointer instead.

Victory is a physical player who goes after every single rebound - hard. His emotional style sometimes gets him into foul trouble, but he brings unmatched toughness for a HU big. He could be a real force in DC or risk an early exit if the fouls keep coming.

Cruz is our best player and the “iron man,” playing every minute with hardly any foul trouble. He defends tough, but his offense can be frustrating - especially the second half of the season. He’s not quite at the level of past HU anchors like Jenkins, JFW, and Tyler Thomas. The shots he passes up are puzzling for a key scorer. Even with double teams, he needs to take and make more of those shots if we want to win the CAA.

As every year, heading south for the CAA, I have high hopes but recognize the challenge. The CAA has strong teams below us in the standings, and UNCW and CofC are tough opponents. Can we beat them? I believe so, and I hope we do.

Wish I was going. I will head down if/when the team plays on Tuesday. Was there in 2020. Want to return.

This was a fun team to watch this year. I really enjoyed. Hope it goes deeper into March.

It should be this afternoon.

Also, Hofstra as a 3, not only higher than the 2, but much closer to the 1 than the 2. People liking Hofstra's chances.

ESPN had three people pick every conference tournament winner. Joe Lunardi picked us, and the other two picked UNCW. The three people picked the same winner in 21 of 31 conferences.

https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=652807 will have statistics for North Carolina A&T vs. Northeastern.

+220 is insane. Happy to see it though.
Staying at the team hotel in the wharf, getting in Sunday, coming in solo.
I have the room booked until Wednesday so they better at least win the first game!
