Since I last posted, we lost 2-0 at UNCW on October 16, lost 1-0 at Charleston on October 19, and today won 3-2 at Stony Brook to end the regular season and qualify for the CAA Tournament, which we will start at Stony Brook on Thursday at 6:00 P.M. Neither the CAA nor us said what made us win the tiebreaker over Towson to get in. Both teams went 3-3-3, and the head-to-head game was 1-1 at Towson. We had a better goal differential in CAA games. We had a much better RPI before today at 150th to Towson's 237th. The first two rounds are within divisions. If we win at Stony Brook, we play at North 1 seed Monmouth on Sunday at 1:00 P.M. If we win that, we play the Final at UNCW, William & Mary, or Elon. We had the fewest points of the tournament teams, so we cannot host.

https://gohofstra.com/sports/womens-soc ... core/13765 is the box score. Millie Davies scored at 19:56, Mathilde Braithwaite scored at 33:46, Stony Brook's Hannah Maracina scored at 64:01, Stony Brook's Hedvig Helling scored at 72:23, and Olivia Pearse scored at 78:22 to win. Since Towson won, we needed the win to make the CAA Tournament. We had more shots 20 to 14, and more shots on goal 10 to 7.

Today's first round CAA game at Stony Brook is about to start at 2:00, moved from 6:00 due to the weather.

Nasty nasty weather to play in and crazy wind. This will be an adventure can't picture a soccer game being played under these conditions.

Lose 2-1 in OT on a penalty

Looks like we outplayed them. We had twice as many shots as they did.
Looks like their goalie had a really good game
The difference is Riley, Rich, who is a prolific goal scorer
We don't have anyone like that on our team

We have Millie Davies and also Manon Lebargy. Millie has been hobbled with injuries the last two seasons but when healthy is one of the best players in this league. Lebargy has been getting limited minutes and has not been the prolific goal scorer at HU as she was at Middle Tennessee. Mathilde Braithwaite also can score it and has had a good year. LeBargy has missed games and may also be injured but give Riley Rich credit her numbers speak volumes.

Horrible way to lose the game on a penalty kick in overtime for a foul that was questionable. We dominated play this game. We were the better team.
It's a shame it was taken away from us like that.
