I did not realize we were that good.
With two games left including tomorrow, we clinched winning the North Division, a CAA Tournament First Round bye, and hosting a Semifinal. If we get more points tomorrow at Monmouth (9 points from 7 games which is 1 more game than us) than Elon (12 points) get at Campbell (11 points), we will clinch hosting the CAA Final if we reach it. The Semifinals are on Sunday November 9, and the Final is on Saturday November 15.
The CAA teams have a mean RPI rank of 104.5. The mean for all teams is 107, so the CAA is slightly better than average.

We ended the regular season with a 2-0 win hosting Drexel. We are 12-4, and 7-1 in the CAA.
https://gohofstra.com/sports/mens-socce ... core/13748 is the box score. Daniel Burko scored both goals to give him 11. We had more shots 17 to 2, and more shots on goal 8 to 0. The attendance was 319.
https://gohofstra.com/news/2025/11/1/me ... eight.aspx is titled "#25 Hofstra Blanks Drexel On Senior Night, Extends Win Streak To Eight." It says that our eight game winning streak is the longest active streak in the country. We honored twelve seniors, so we will need many new players to be good next season.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GACvSamoEg0 is highlights.
The recap says that we are Number 25, and
https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-me ... er-coaches has the poll.
We host the winner of Monmouth at Stony Brook in a Semifinal on Sunday November 9 at 2:00 P.M.

We have 12 seniors but according to Richard Nutthall we will have 2 coming back
I think we will be ok for next year but lets just concentrate on the CAA and bring this title home as a going away gift for Richard

https://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=624073 will have statistics.
I have to start paying for Flo. I pay from the Men's Soccer Tournament (or Women's if we are great enough) through the Men's Basketball Tournament (and Women's if we are great enough).
If we win the CAA Tournament, we will break a tie with W&M for the most CAA titles, as it would be our eighth. W&M's eight include one regular season title in a year without a tournament. In the last 29 complete seasons, which includes before we were in the CAA, we have as many titles as all other schools still in the CAA combined. Us and W&M are the only current schools with more than one title. CAA Men's Soccer started in 1983.

If you pay, you can watch at

Edit: We have a 4-5-1 formation with goalkeeper Gino Cervoni; defenders Gabriel Pacheco, Jan Ziewiec, Thengill Orrason, and Evangelos Chrysostomou; midfielders Owen Barnett, Stefano Campisi, Samuel Francou, Laurie Goddard, and Aleksei Armas; and forward Daniel Burko. Stony Brook has a 4-4-2 formation.

We lead 1-0 at halftime. Laurie Goddard scored when his shot was deflected in the 10th minute. We have 7 shots and 3 shots on goal. Stony Brook does not have a shot, but they did better later in the halftime. Cervoni had to punch a ball away, and catch a ball. There is heavy rain. If the weather makes it hard to score it could be good. We were the better team, but it would not shock me to go to overtime 1-1. Stony Brook must avoid allowing another goal because it will be very hard to score two.
At halftime, we changed goalkeepers to Sean Bohan, who got injured in the third game.

SBU wins, 2-1, on two goals late in the second half. Hofstra must hope for an at-large bid to return to the NCAAT.

Do they have a decent chance to get an at-large, Jojo?

Even though they were ranked 22nd before this loss and there are 26 at-large bids? I would think that would at least place them on the bubble?
Consecutive years that Stony Brook has eliminated Hofstra in the CAA semis in either men's basketball or men's soccer. Ouch.

I don’t know. We didn’t make it to the championship game.
