What in the heck is going on here, is Hofstra purposely not trying to rebound the friggin ball on the offensive side????? There is NO ONE crashing the boards, ZERO. This is insane. Rebound the friggin ball Speedy. Awful game plan to start.

And everyone on the AE PG kick needs to zip it. Kid is a terrible point guard. Makes very poor decisions and turns it over. Seen this a lot from him... because he is not a PG.

Team needs to wake up, this game shouldn't be close.

Everything HU did to go 3-0 they aren't doing in this game. Absolutely infuriating. Friggin PITIFUL. And this is ALL on this staff. Get your crap together.

San Jose State has scored 13 straight in less than three minutes, to go up 22-12. Spartans have started/ from 3. Timeout, Hofstra after the last 3.

Team is getting their asses kicked. This play and game plan is disgusting.

Have to agree - this offense is pitiful. Swing the ball around, shoot a 3, miss, repeat. No creativity, no realization they aren’t a lights out shooting team.

I will disagree about the rebounding. They rarely crash the boards so this is nothing new. The shoot and get back on D.

17 straight points for San Jose State and eight straight misses for Hofstra, but a 3 from Estrada ended those streaks.

26-15, Spartans at the U8 (6:20). Pivotal stretch out of this MTO and out of the last one at the U4 to try to survive that big Spartans run and get back in it at halftime.

Man, Marshall, WOW, this kid has impressed - surprised me for sure - his size is providing a big spark in the post. Might have a real player in this young frosh.

Notable about this is he got two consecutive layups after 15 of Hofstra's first 21 attempts were from 3 (with only 3 makes from 3).

If they want to shoot the 3, drive and attack the hoop to open that up.

And on the last series they FINALLY did rebound, got it and kicked out to AE for a 3. Amazing how rebounding works. Speedy is disappointing here. Your team isn't on, show a frigging game plan.

Not SO bad when you consider:
- Spartans shot 7/12 from 3
- Pride shot 4/19 from 3
- Spartans scored 17 straight at one point

Could have been a lot worse. They did not play well, but down 10, are very much in the game. Could be down close to 20. Cut that quickly to six in the second half, and they are right there. Different approach is needed though. Let's see if Speedy & staff earn their keep in this game.

Can't just talk about shooting guys, the game plan was TERRIBLE. There wasn't one. You can't do that for an entire half. This is on the staff 100%.

Yep, they are chucking bricks, so that means CHANGE THE APPROACH. But nope HU just keeps on keeping on. Add on getting smoked on D and here we are.

Agree it could (and frankly should) be much worse and they can absolutely turn this right around and own the 2nd half. Off shooting nights happen, but I expect better from this staff. We better see some adjustments in the 2nd.

Hofstra in the bonus very early, with more than 10 minutes left. That could help them cut into the deficit and rally down the stretch.

Was going to mention this in earlier games but they won, so it wasn't a big deal.

But tonight, this is hurting them: Dubar 3/9 fg, 1/7 from 3. He is too capable in other areas to be settling for mostly 3s and attempting little else.

That said, it's down to a 5-point game with 9+ left.

Bonus can and should definitely help

I'm a huge fan as you all know, but someone (SPEEDY) needs to teach Carlos how to finish a drive to the basket - kid NEVER tries, constantly kicks out, show him how to do a floater for goodness sake. He doesn't have to pass EVERY drive! I know he's short, but kid has CRAZY ups, Speedy should be able to teach how to do this. Kid needs to develop the game and confidence to finish when it's there.

NO reason for this game to have been played the way it has been. Completely unnecessary, and I am not pleased with the staff in this one.

Will take the W of course, but there was NO reason for this game to be this close - terrible plan, terrible coaching, and pretty poor play overall. Highly disappointed in Speedy and staff. I expect MUCH better - year 2, you beat better teams the first 3, and this game was too close not because SJU is so good, but because HU didn't play properly.

They made some adjustments in the 2nd but that first was ridiculous. Not needed. I expect better from guys like Speedy and TP. Do better Speedy and TP - you two know enough of the game to not do crap like that.

All in all, HU played to lose but still managed to win. I'm not saying congrats, but certainly happy with being 4-0. SJU was another team who was literally just one player - once HU started playing tighter D on him, it turned the tide. Glad to see that, but again HU made this game hard on themselves.

They got away with one here, but need to get their act together more against Saint Mary's. But unlike most here I'm sure, I believe fully that HU can and just might win that game.

Yeh the staff SUCKS! AND WE WIN! Just did not hit our shots early on the road....it happens! Stuck to the plan and the shots began to fall...Me thinks this team can be special with its GRIT.

They took rushed and low percentage shots. They finally settled down and got back to the offense they were running earlier in the season.
