Key for him will be to show he can score coming off the bench, something he hasn't had to do.
Also D is somewhat optional in the NBA.

Now Ponds is down to 51st and JWF is down to 72nd. Among players from schools in the eight states New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, the five players in the Top 100 draft prospects are:

51. Ponds
54. Miye Oni from Yale
71. Tyus Battle from Syracuse
72. JWF
84. Ky Bowman from Boston College

All Players of the Year get an automatic Honorable Mention if they don't make one of the three teams. Including Honorable Mentions, 53 players were honored, so a mid-major conference with 1 of 53 players is a higher percentage than having 1 of 68 NCAA Tournament teams.

http://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_ ... ig-lottery has him being the final pick. They have him as a PG. They do not have either player who scored over 3,000 being drafted.

Wouldn't it be ironic if that last team were the Warriors, the same team that drafted Charles?

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but Justin Wright-Foreman will not be participating in Portsmouth.

More immediately, I hope the Haggerty Award is up next for JWF.

This is disappointing. Would have been a good type of event for him to showcase his skills against some good competition in front of scouts from every NBA team. Making it even more disappointing is that UNCW's Cacok IS participating.

He may have decided to pass after his outstanding performance in the 3x3.

That would be a big mistake. As much as he shined there, you can't compare showing out in front of scouts in 3x3 vs. actual basketball in a well-known event like Portsmouth.

I also don't think he'd do that. My guess is he wasn't invited, and if so, why not? He would've been deserving.

Not every scout at Porstmouth and other events over the next few weeks and months has seen him in person this year. Some are the same scouts, some are different. When you're not on anyone's draft board yet, you need every opportunity you can get to showcase yourself.

Seniors play Portsmouth in hopes of receiving an invite to the NBA Draft Combine. JWF must have some strong intel on his chances, and saw PIT as having the ability to hurt his chances more than help.

He 10000% received an invite and would have been there if he wanted to be... he's one of the top seniors in the country.

As a follow-up, it looks like the first invites just went out...

We should hear decently soon if he will, in fact, be included.

Saw on JWF instagram story the other day that he was playing with Kyle Guy and Naz Reid. I know that Naz received an invite. Pretty sure Kyle Guy will receive one as well. Maybe he knows that he is good to go

That's very good company to be in.

But, would still like to see this type of stuff for JWF. This is JWF's good friend from Queens. They had a great duel in November at The Mack, when Allman Jr. had 38 and JWF had 37 in a Hofstra win. But JWF is better. If Allman Jr. is getting workouts like this, JWF definitely should be:
