Completely dominant performance in pretty much all aspects by Long Island's real team tonight.

It's going to be a looooong season for Stony Brook men's lacrosse. They may not win more than one or two games all year. Their match with No. 1 Albany is going to be a massacre.

Yeh but what about us...are we the team that annialated Stony Brook or the one which couldn't score against Villanova. Georgetown might be the real barometer.

Georgetown will be a good test. They are 4-0 and beat Towson 12-10. This is a home game. “No one comes into our house and pushes us around”. What movie was this quote from?

To Stuball888, Is the quote from Rudy during a pregame locker room speech from Coach Dan Devine?

FWIW, the defense has been solid (obviously aided by playing an awful Stony Brook team, but still). 4th in team defense, and Concanon is third in the country in GAA, out of 60+ qualifiers.

Today's game with Georgetown postponed because of travel difficulties from yesterday's nor'easter. Is too bad since team was going to honor victims of Florida school shooting with special warmup jerseys. http://www.gohofstra.com/news/2018/3/2/ ... urday.aspx

Anyone braving the cold today for UNC?

Predictions? UNC is 6-1, but they took Furman to OT, beat St John's by a goal, and are coming off their first loss earlier this week, 10-6 at home to Denver.

I think either way game will be close. The question is how Hofstra handles the rust of not playing in 11 days compared to UNC which has had a few games in that time span. They will certainly be seeking revenge after losing to us last two years. Hopefully some of the first midfield that have been hurt are back today, especially Kavanagh.

It should be a close game. Any word on Brendon Kavanaughs injury. Will he be back in the lineupi

Dominant 12-6 win over the Tar Heels! Too bad they refuse to play us after this season.

Anything but close. Hofstra did a good job, I thought, of stopping the UNC momentum the few times they had it in second half.

Some of the ground balls and clears need some cleaning up,but other than that, hard to complain too much.

Fun to watch as Hofstra dominated the Heels from the start. 7-0 at half, dominated face offs and our goalie played great.

Feeling much better about this season now.

Hofstra has the #1 defense in the country, and that's after playing three top 10 teams:

Here are game highlights:

Kyle Gallagher was the man of the match, winning 13 of 20 draws, including seven in the first half that prevented UNC from scoring until the third quarter.
